The Cube is an adaptation of the popular British gameshow and came to America in 2021.

Wade was chosen as the face of of the show that had contestants compete in a series of challenges inside a glass cube for up to $250,000.

The show was heavily advertised across TNT Sports platforms due to Wade’s NBA familiarity.

Unfortunately, the show has aired its last episode, according to Forbes’ Marc Berman .

The show getting cancelled comes in a string of bad news for Wade, as he announced just days ago that he battled cancer .

Wade had 40 percent of his right kidney removed 13 months ago after feeling issues with his body.

“On the process of checking, like, ‘Why is my piss coming out slow, why is my stream ain’t powerful? Why is it a little weak?’” Wade said.

He underwent a full body scan that revealed a mass on his organ.

“And the doctor was like, ‘You need to have kidney surgery,’” Wade said.

The surgery revealed that the tumor was cancerous, but Wade entered recovery after the operation.

Fortunately for him, he is healthy today and has some potential to move into other TV roles outside of his game show.

Last summer, Wade made his broadcasting debut alongside Noah Eagle during NBC ‘s coverage of the Olympic men’s basketball tournament.

His commentary saw mostly positive reviews, leading many to believe NBC could bring him on board for their NBA coverage starting next season.

NBC hasn’t made an official announcement about that yet, but recent reports indicate that Reggie Miller will be the analyst alongside play-by-play commentator Mike Tirico.

However, Wade could find himself on NBC’s No. 2 team as Eagle is likely to serve as the network’s second play-by-play man.

New rights deal

The NBA signed an 11-year deal with three networks for the league’s rights from the 2025-26 season.

And there will be no games on TNT for the first time since the network launched in 1988.

The Walt Disney Company will continue to show the league with 80 regular-season games across ESPN and ABC.

They will also show around 18 playoff games from the first and second round, a Conference Finals series for 10 of the 11 years, and remain the home of the NBA Finals.

NBC will return as an NBA broadcaster for the first time since 2002.

The network will show up to 100 games per season across it’s channels and Peacock streaming service.

It will also be the home of NBA All-Star and show approximately 28 playoff games from the first and second round.

NBC will show one Conference Finals Series for six of the 11 years, rotating with new broadcaster Amazon Prime.

Amazon will show 66 NBA regular-season games including one on Black Friday.

The streaming service is also the home of the latter stages of the NBA Cup and the entire Play-In Tournament.

Prime will also broadcast around one third of the playoff games in the first and second round.

With how well Wade and Eagle worked together, NBC could bring the NBA legend on board to reunite the Olympic crew.

If that is the case, Wade will have plenty of time to prepare for a new career in broadcasting.

There is still the second half of the current NBA season to get through and all of the playoffs.

Wade will have nearly a year to prepare if he does get the gig with NBC.

If not, he is still running his podcast, The Why with Dwyane Wade, that airs sporadically throughout the NBA season.
