WHEEL of Fortune has gone full NFL in honor of Super Bowl Sunday, but the game show’s new weeklong special kicked off with a massive fail.

Candace, a die-hard Saints fan from North Carolina, crumbled on the $40,000 bonus puzzle, which fans deemed the “easiest ever” to solve.

Longtime host Pat Sajak introduced Monday’s contestants, who sported the jerseys of their favorite football teams.

Starting off the “Superfan” special, Candace, who shares a blended family of four with her “super-duper hot” fiance, secured a winning total of $16,100.

With the highest score, she eagerly entered the bonus puzzle round, choosing the dreaded “Phrase” category with her fiance and BFF cheering her on.

The puzzle consisted of three words, and after her additional letter selections of FGPO (alongside the provided RSTLNE), it emerged as: “P _ _ _ ‘ ‘_N ‘F_LL.”

“Pretty good,” commented Pat. “Audience, nothing from you. It’s tempting.”

However, as the timer started ticking, Candace drew blanks, attempting variations like “Pain in Full” or “Push In Full and simply: “Pull…”

The 10 seconds ran out and the puzzle displayed as “Paid in Full” which left Pat playfully ribbing her: “You talked all around it.”

Candace exclaimed: “Paid In Full!” and swung her head back in disappointment as Pat revealed her prize card held $40,000.

‘REALLY?’

Wheel of Fortune fans couldn’t contain their disbelief, taking to social media to express their shock at what seemed like a straightforward puzzle

One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “How? The easiest puzzle.”

Other reactions were: “Homegirl on Wheel of Fortune had: P A _ _ I _ F _ LL It’s a phase. She didn’t get it. I was in here yelling the answer at the TV. Missed out on $40k.”

“I thought she had it when she said ‘Pain in full’ tough loss.”

“Really? She couldn’t guess ‘paid in full’ for the final Wheel of Fortune? Huh?

“My mom answered the final wheel of fortune and went ‘PAID IN FULL; I ANSWERED IT FOR YOU COME ON’ and my brother went ‘you didn’t win anything. You’re not on the show.’”

WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE

During Pat’s sendoff season, wrong answers on the beloved game show just keep on spinning.

Recently, a contestant missed the bonus puzzle “BAGELS & D_ _G _ N_TS,” unable to guess “doughnuts,” costing her a BMW.

Another contestant lost by mispronouncing one word of a completed puzzle, fans debating Pat’s “cold-blooded” ruling.

More humorously, a contestant went viral for her wrong answer: “The British Ogre.

In the fall, NFL star Rashad Jennings went viral for thinking director Quentin Tarantino was “Puentin” Tarantino.

Of course, the season’s biggest Wheel moment was last week’s bonus round miss, with the nation claiming Megan was “robbed” and said the bonus puzzle correctly.

Megan went on GMA to respond to the “Pink Orchid” controversy and let fans know she did not, in fact, say “Pink Orchid.”

Pat is retiring at the end of Season 41 in June 2024, marking the end of an era as Ryan Seacrest will begin hosting next fall.

The three winners with the highest scores this week will face off on Friday to become the champion, which will be worth a VIP package to the big game.

This is quite a shakeup as WoF never has its winning contestant return the next day, so Candace could redeem herself.
