What is The Voice playoff pass?
A coach can only use the playoff pass once in the competition

POPULAR TV show The Voice has wowed viewers each season with impeccable performances, strong competition, and unique rules since its debut in 2011.

The playoff pass rule was introduced in their latter seasons, and here’s everything we know about it.

What is The Voice playoff pass?

Similar to the save pass which allows a contestant to remain safe from elimination, the playoff pass accelerates a contestant into The Voice competition.

The playoff pass gives a coach the opportunity to save and send their chosen singer straight to the playoffs.

By doing this, the contestant skipped the knockout round.

However, the playoff pass can only be used once during the battles.

Once the battles are over, the coaches each have six artists including their chosen contestant who moved to the playoff round.

When was the playoff pass first introduced?

The playoff pass was first introduced in season 23 and was brought back for season 25.

During season 25, John Legend used his playoff pass with contestant Bryan Olesen.

Additionally, Reba McEntire used her playoff pass on L. Rodgers just as Chance the Rapper was trying to steal Rodgers from Team Reba.

After Reba’s play, Chance confessed: “The fact that the Playoff Pass trumps the steal makes for fun.

“Reba crushed my dreams!”

Who are The Voice judges?

Chance and duo-coaches Dan & Shay have yet to use their passes.

How can I watch The Voice?

Season 25 of The Voice premiered on Monday, February 26, 2024.

The series premieres at 9 pm EST on NBC. Fans can watch the show via NBC or on Peacock the following day.

On June 22, 2023, it was revealed that country duo Dan & Shay would join season 25 as coaches, making it the first time a pair will sit on the panel.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight about their experience as coaches, Shay said: “It’s changed everything for us.

“I just really enjoy the process of getting to work with these artists, and you really, you get attached…It’s been an amazing experience.”
