A scary scene unfolded at Madison Square Garden when Tracy, a well-known Knicks superfan, collapsed while courtside. The incident caught everyone off guard as Tracy struggled to stand up and was seen vomiting. Fans immediately became concerned as it appeared that Tracy was seriously unwell. He was quickly helped and taken out of the arena in a wheelchair, visibly wiping his face, and at one point, it seemed as though he was bleeding from his nose.
Later, Tracy reassured fans from his hospital bed, giving a thumbs-up to let everyone know he was okay. He explained that the frightening episode was caused by food poisoning, which led to his severe vomiting. Despite the scare, Tracy’s humor and positivity remained intact, as he joked about the situation, saying that his job was to “stay funny” and not let things get to him.
Tracy is no stranger to medical challenges. The 56-year-old has had a long history of health issues. He has been living with diabetes for years, and in 2010, he underwent a kidney transplant. He also survived a horrific accident in 2014 when he was struck by a truck, which resulted in a severe brain injury and multiple broken bones. Reflecting on the aftermath of his accident, Tracy shared how he felt when he woke from a coma, saying, “I was a mess.”
More recently, Tracy has been open about his experience with weight loss medication. He joked about using the drug Ozempic, which is typically prescribed for weight loss, but humorously admitted to gaining 40 pounds instead of losing weight.
In the medical community, there’s a known condition that could explain some of what happened during Tracy’s vomiting episode. Aggressive vomiting, such as what Tracy experienced, can lead to tears in the lining of the esophagus, which may result in blood being present in the vomit. This can explain why it appeared as if Tracy was bleeding from his nose during the incident.
Tracy’s vomiting episode, although alarming, is not typical for most patients using GLP-1 medications, such as Ozempic. While these medications can cause nausea and vomiting as potential side effects, projectile vomiting is considered rare.
Despite his health issues, Tracy has maintained his sense of humor and continues to be a beloved figure in the entertainment world. He even made an appearance on the 50th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live last month, where he shared the stage with many former cast members. Tracy’s ability to stay resilient and positive, even in the face of serious health struggles, has earned him the admiration of fans and colleagues alike.
