WHEEL of Fortune host Pat Sajak has taken a harsh jab at a contestant’s emotional struggle with Tuesday’s bonus puzzle.

The puzzle drew criticism from social media users, and making matters worse, poor Amy briefly fought back tears after missing it.

Amy was unable to solve the puzzle under the category 'Place' as 'Wide Empty Field'

The spirited teacher, juggling two kids with her “handsome, hot” husband, clinched victory with a whopping score of $27,510.

She proceeded to the bonus round and chose the category “Place,” which Pat, 77, sarcastically noted she requested with “real conviction.”

The three-word puzzle was displayed, and she chose an additional “MCHI” to help her.

It read: “_I_E’ ‘EM_T_ _’ ‘_IEL_’ and with that the 10-second timer started.

She made various half-guesses: “Pile? Immense field?” to no avail.

After the timer ran out, Pat bluntly told her: “That’s incorrect,” with a chuckle.

When it was revealed to be “Wide Empty Field,” Amy burst into a huge frown.

It appeared she was crying, although she may have been slightly exaggerating- either way, Pat didn’t hold back.

“She’s crying on the air!” Pat exclaimed with a smirk.

Amy’s expression slowly turned to acceptance as it was revealed she missed out on an additional $40,000.

“You know what, I’m so happy,” she told the host.

‘WIDE EMPTY FIELD!?’

Despite the cruel exchange, Wheel of Fortune fans on social media called out the puzzle itself for being a real headscratcher.

One X user wrote: “Wide open field yes…wide empty field no! Awful!”

Another wrote: “‘Wide Empty Field’ seriously?”

A third wrote: “@WheelofFortune Wide empty field? Wtf is that?”

A fourth wrote: ““Wide empty field” ….wtf is that @WheelofFortune … words nobody has ever said.”

SAJAK’S SASSY SENDOFF SEASON

Pat Sajak has spun out plenty of harsh comments during his last season as host, according to fans.

Last month, Pat mocked a contestant who struggled with a puzzle, likening it to “pulling teeth.”

He sarcastically told another contestant who missed their bonus puzzle: “You were so not close.”

And recently, fans were stunned when Pat “disrespectfully” screamed “shut up!” at an overenthused contestant.

In the fall, the host gave it to the contestants after each made an incorrect guess on a puzzle.

He snarked to the player who solved it: “You were bound to get there eventually.

There are only so many words in the English language.”

“Aw!” another contestant could be heard yelling off-screen as the audience nervously laughed.

A winner from earlier this season exclusively told The U.S. Sun that he was outshining Pat with his charisma, causing the host to warn at a commercial break: “This is my show.”

Fans felt the puzzle itself was questionable at best, and Pat's comment certainly didn't help
