TWO DECADES OF MEAN GIRLS

Mean Girls reached their 20-year milestone on April 30; however, Mean Girls Day is celebrated on October 3 due to the iconic Aaron Samuels’ line.

In the movie, main character Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) says in a voiceover that she has been chatting it up with her love interest Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett) more and more each day.

To demonstrate how they’ve been talking more every day she says in the voiceover, “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.”

Cady then answered Aaron, “It’s October 3rd.”

Jeopardy! Universe

Jeopardy! first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, many spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they all are:

Jeopardy! – (syndicated) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7 pm ET.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament.

Second Chance Tournament – 2022 to present features hand-selected non-winners from the season prior, where the prize is entry into Champions Wildcard.

Champions Wildcard – 2023 to present, features all one, two and three-day champions from the season prior worth entry into the Tournament of Champions.

Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (syndication) – 2023 to present, features past greats invited by producers to vie for a slot in Masters.

Jeopardy! Masters (primetime) – 2023 to present, features the six highest-ranked Jeopardy! champions competing against each other.

Celebrity Jeopardy! (primetime) – 1992 to present, has celebrities compete against each other to raise money for charity.

Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming) – 2024 to present, will feature teams of three tasked with pop culture trivia on Amazon Prime, host and airdate TBD

Jeopardy! has done away with specialized tournaments like its College Tournaments, Kids Week, and Professor’s Tournament to gear towards a more sports-like model, with Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years as well, like Sports Jeopardy!.

When asked if anything was planned for the upcoming unofficial holiday, Daniel said, “Not particularly. ”

However, he teased, “People always have plans for me.

“When I get the call, I always try to go where I’m wanted.”

He also said he’d love to do more things with Mean Girls, including the new cast.

“I love the new cast. Maybe I’ll end up collaborating with Reneé Rapp, that would be awesome,” he shared.

“I love the new cast and what they did… I’d love to do more things with them.”

He went on to suggest, “Let’s do an animated series. Let’s do a dramatic spin on it.

“I’m down for whatever they want to do with the franchise any time they want to do it.”

Daniel reprised his role as Damian in the 2023 Walmart Black Friday Deals commercial alongside his former Mean Girls co-stars.

Since his breakout role, Daniel has been working with the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation to help raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Speaking with The U.S. Sun, he recalled his experience lobbying for HIV/AIDS awareness in Florida.

“I was in those offices and I saw all of their faces light up because I’m in Mean Girls,” he revealed.

“And all of a sudden they were paying attention and they were writing down everything that my fellow activists were saying who were living their lives with HIV, who wouldn’t get the same reaction from [the congressmen] or the same attitude, who wouldn’t have the selfie with all of them and remember it for the rest of their lives.”

Over the years, Daniel has also teamed up with Glaad, a non-profit LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.
