JEOPARDY! fans have created their ideal lineup for a Second Chance tournament that included a player they feel the show mistreated.

Viewers of the long-running game show discussed the potential lineup on an online board dedicated to Jeopardy!

On Sunday, a fan shared a post titled, “My ideal second chance lineup and why I think they should be included.”

“So far,” they added before listing the players from Season 40 they felt would be great competitors for a Second Chance tournament.

“I’m not gonna have a set number I’m just going to list some good candidates,” they explained.

“I’m sure we will see more in [the] coming weeks.”

Jeopardy! fans think Drew Basile will return for Second Chance tournament

The list included Brian Hardzinski, Eric Reimund, Ferdinand Percentie, Bryan Carrasco, Isabella Dawis, Josh Moss, Carol Ritchie, Josh Fry, Enzo Cunanan, Kaitlin Tarr, Ty Patton, Colleen Matthews, Tekla Sauter, Josh Heit, Alan Elverum, Maryl Harris, and Jayaker Kolli.

They reasoned Brian, who competed in the April 11 episode, “gave Alison Betts a run for her money in her first game” and could have won if he “wagered higher on his Daily Double.”

Eric, who competed on April 16, was listed because he “led Alison going into Final Jeopardy.”

April 29 contestant Ferdinand was added to the lineup because he “led Amy Hummel going into Final jeopardy” but lost due to the final clue.

Jeopardy! star Drew Goins reveals the one rule he broke on set that didn’t air

They reasoned, “He successfully converted all [three] Daily Doubles and had 22 correct responses. [He] clearly could’ve gone on a bit of a run had the Final Jeopardy [not] broken his way.

Bryan was added because he “missed a $10200 daily double which ended up not letting him win the game” and Isabella was included due to her “showing how she wasn’t afraid to wager largely on a Daily Double in the Jeopardy round.”

Jeopardy! star Drew Basile suffers shocking defeat & fans spot the ‘reason’ his 7-game winning streak came to abrupt end

Josh Moss “gave Adriana a run for her money and he made a good comeback along with strong wagers” and Josh Fry “kept it close the entire game and got more correct responses than Adriana.”

Carol was included because she was “neck and neck” with Adriana before her Daily Double wager went wrong.

Enzo “had an excellent performance,” Kaitlin “showed great potential,” Ty wasn’t afraid to make bold wagers, Colleen “kept it close the whole game against Adriana,” and Tekla would’ve won the game if she “wagered a little larger on the Daily Double.”

The writer believed Josh should be included because “historically, all tiebreaker losers have been given a second chance” and Josh tied with Drew at Final Jeopardy on the June 21 episode.

Jeopardy! Universe

Jeopardy! first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, many spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they all are:

Jeopardy! – (syndicated) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7 pm ET.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament.

Second Chance Tournament – 2022 to present features hand-selected non-winners from the season prior, where the prize is entry into Champions Wildcard.

Champions Wildcard – 2023 to present, features all one, two and three-day champions from the season prior worth entry into the Tournament of Champions.

Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (syndication) – 2023 to present, features past greats invited by producers to vie for a slot in Masters.

Jeopardy! Masters (primetime) – 2023 to present, features the six highest-ranked Jeopardy! champions competing against each other.

Celebrity Jeopardy! (primetime) – 1992 to present, has celebrities compete against each other to raise money for charity.

Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming) – 2024 to present, will feature teams of three tasked with pop culture trivia on Amazon Prime, host and airdate TBD

Jeopardy! has done away with specialized tournaments like its College Tournaments, Kids Week, and Professor’s Tournament to gear towards a more sports-like model, with Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years as well, like Sports Jeopardy!.

They also felt that Alan “played strongly and deserves a second chance” and that Maryl was a “solid player” who kept the game relatively close.

Jayaker, from the June 27 episode, stayed “close with Drew in the first round” before missing a Daily Double.

“Considering he was the only person who knew Fnal Jeopardy he deserves a second chance because had that Daily Double [gone] his way he would’ve won,” they added.

In the comment thread of the forum post, one fan wrote, “When the official list will be revealed before the end of the year, expect shocking exclusions.”

“I want Tekla to get her Jessica Stephens/Kill Bill redemption!” added another.

“One thing that hurt Jayaker was Luke finding his buzzer timing and going on a run late in the Double Jeopardy! round,” mentioned a third.

A fourth person commented, “Jayaker deserves a second chance because of what ABC did to him.”

JUST FACE IT

Earlier this week, Jeopardy! fans felt bad for Jayaker Kolli because his face was blocked by an advertisement during the entire competition.

The ad that Jayaker’s face displayed how many minutes were left until the 2024 Presidential Debate aired on television.

Fans tweeted photos of the contestant, who is a medical student in Austin, Texas, with the ad covering his face

“Who thought this was a good idea,” asked one X, formerly Twitter, user.

“I feel terrible for him, his friends, and family that are watching,” echoed another. “How frustrating!”

“ABC Network you could put the annoying countdown clock at the bottom of the screen so it don’t cover the peoples faces on Jeopardy,” said another X user. “Or at least make it smaller. WE all know when the debate starts.”

Jayaker was playing against two other contestants Luke Hemphill and current champ Drew Basile.

By the first break, Jayaker had answered six questions correctly but lost momentum during Double Jeopardy! when he gave an incorrect response.

From there, Basile took the lead and gained $4,000 on the last Daily Double.

Host Ken Jennings asked Jayaker about his bucket list – calling it a bit “unusual” than most.

“It’s a bucket list of fruit that I want to try at some point, so various things that I’ve seen online or heard of,” Jayaker explained.

“I don’t know what most of them would taste like but I’d like to at some point.”

When asked what would be his most wanted fruit at the moment, Jayaker answered Jabuticaba which is a fruit that grows on the bark of a tree in Brazil.
