The Jeopardy!-verse is expanding with Pop Culture Jeopardy!, hosted by Saturday Night Live golden boy Colin Jost.

The spinoff is the first in the quiz show’s history to not be on cable, exclusively streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

There are two other changes to the tried-and-true Jeopardy! format.

Taylor Swift visits Travis Kelce on set of new game show Are You Smarter?

Instead of answering general knowledge questions, contestants will answer questions about musicmoviessports (oh my!), and TV.

Finally, there won’t be three individual contestants competing. Instead, three teams of three people will be on stage simultaneously.

Jeopardy.com describes: “Contestants, playing in teams of three, will need to be experts in categories from Alternative Rock to The Avengers, Broadway to MMA, Gen Z to Zendaya.

“They compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights.”

Colin, 42, was named the host on July 31 and shared the statement, “What is: I’m excited.”

Pop Culture Jeopardy! is currently being taped, and it is expected to premiere in early fall.

LeVar of Reading Rainbow fame will host Trivial Pursuit on The CW.

He’s also the executive producer of the board game adaptation.

The show was officially green-lit three months ago, according to Deadline.

“The beloved trivia game Trivial Pursuit is reimagined in a question-packed entertainment format,” the press description reads.

New game shows coming in 2024

Fall’s TV schedule is jam-packed with brand-new game shows with big celebrities attached:

Pop Culture Jeopardy! on Amazon Prime hosted by Colin Jost (coming this fall)

Trivial Pursuit on The CW hosted by LeVar Burton (coming in October)

Scrabble on The CW hosted by Raven Symone (coming in October)

Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity? on Amazon Prime hosted by Travis Kelce (coming October 9)

Hollywood Squares on CBS hosted by Drew Barrymore (coming late fall)

Flip Side on CBS hosted by Jaleel White (coming September 9)

“Gameplay takes place on a giant version of the iconic Trivial Pursuit game board, as contestants battle it out over a range of play-along question categories to win wedges and beat each other to the center.

“The victor then takes on a dramatic finale against the clock to claim the big money jackpot.”

LeVar has been pushing for the show since 2021 after he was passed over as the next host of Jeopardy!

LeVar was among the many guest hosts who auditioned for Alex Trebek‘s big gig but claimed it was under dubious circumstances.

The Roots star was an early favorite to be the next Jeopardy! host and an online petition garnered more than 250,000 signatures.

LeVar later stated that former executive producer and brief host Mike Richards did not want to let him audition.

“[Mike] told me later that he didn’t believe me. He didn’t sense in that call my passion. The fix was always in,” LeVar told The Ringer.

Richards would infamously name himself host, which lasted only a week after sexist comments the TV figure had made resurfaced.

However, LeVar also had one of the weaker guest-hosting weeks in terms of reception and ratings. He also shared that he didn’t prepare.

“I know Levar will do quite well! Wonder if we will see any J! Alums on the show,” one Redditor wrote about the news.

“Hopefully, he’ll be a bit better prepared this time,” bluntly wrote another.

“That’s great news! Yay for LaVar Burton!” wrote a third.

The CW is going full game show mode on Monday nights, pairing LeVar’s show with Scrabble hosted by Disney Channel alum Raven Symone.

Raven’s show, like Trivial Pursuit, is a completely new concept and is based on a board game.

Scrabble is described as: “A captivating, fast-paced take on the global board-game phenomenon. In each episode, wordsmiths battle it out over a series of addictive word games of skill and strategy to win points and master a giant Scrabble board in the center of the set.”

Scrabble will air on The CW at 9 pm Eastern on Mondays starting in October.

Drew Barrymore is also making her game show debut, hosting a reboot of a classic: Hollywood Squares.

She will host the classic game show with a coterie of A-list contestants signed on and a refreshingly old-school set design.

The CBS show has begun taping, and a sneak peek showed the set.

The set is designed like the OG version of the show, with nine cubes stacked up.

In the center is the famed center square cube where Drew will sit while hosting.

In addition, the set has a vintage style with wood trimmings that give it that OG game show look.

While there have been many offshoots of Hollywood Squares over the years, this is the first time in 20 years that the original will be rebooted.

The celebrities who will be competing include Tig Notaro, Kristen Schaal, Mario Cantone, Vicki Lawrence of the Carol Burnette Show, and Yvette Nicole Brown.

Hollywood Squares is expected to premiere in the late fall or early winter.

Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, 34, is rushing with his newfound fame, taking on the role of host of Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?

The series sees Kelce taking on the role previously held by comedian Jeff Foxworthy in the show’s previous iteration, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

Prime Video has already released photos of Travis on the set with some of the contestants.

Included are comedian Nikki Glaser, ex-NFL stars Ryan Fitzpatrick and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and actress and producer Lilly Singh.

“Rather than compete against the stars, contestants enlist their help and, in some cases, can even ‘cheat’ off of them,” per a press release.

“And on the final question, worth $100,000, the contestant selects one celebrity to discuss the answer with before locking in.

“The final question is always at the 6th-grade level.”

Kelce impressed Amazon producers with his hosting skills after accepting the role, The U.S. Sun reported last month.

“It turns out that all of his podcasting, plus the attention he’s gained from his relationship with Taylor Swift, has proven to be the perfect training for this kind of job,” a source shared.

“It’s a shock how easygoing he is with the contestants, the audience, and the famous comedians who have come on the show for early tapings.

“Guys like Ryan Seacrest and Ken Jennings are going to be shocked at how easily Travis has transformed into the smoothest host in the game show business,” the source claimed.

As reported exclusively by The U.S. Sun, Kelce is set to receive $1.8 million per season (picked up for two seasons, an option for three) for the series.

The show will stream on Amazon Prime and will debut on October 16.

Jaleel White is set to host Flip Side, a new syndicated game show on CBS.

Jaleel struck fame as Steve Urkel on Family Matters and is also taking on an entirely new concept.

CBS describes: “Flip Side follows two teams of players as they guess how two different groups of people feel about the same issue. Teams choose from multiple choice answers, and the right answer wins the pot.”

“I have had fun being a celebrity contestant on numerous game shows, but I’ve always really wanted to be the host, giving people money and making their day,” White said in a statement.
