A LEGENDARY 70s rock band was forced to cancel their concert during one of their biggest hits.
Journey were performing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Friday when an ‘electrical incident’ occurred.
The band were performing one of their biggest hits – Don’t Stop Believin’ – as the fifth song in their set.
But suddenly, power on the stage went off, and initially the crowd continued to sing the lyrics of the 1981 smash hit.
However, crew then took to the stage with fire extinguishers and soon after, a statement was released to the fans to reveal the rest of the concert has unfortunately been cancelled.
The message – which was also posted on Rodeo Houston’s Facebook page – read: “Due to an unforeseen electrical incident under the stage area, we regretfully announce the cancellation of tonight’s Journey concert.
“We sincerely apologize to all fans for this disappointment. Our team is working diligently to assess the situation, and we will provide updates regarding rescheduling options and refunds as soon as possible.”
A cause for the electrical fire has yet to be revealed.
Writing about the situation on social media, one fan in attendance said: “Right when they were about to sing “it goes on and on and on and ONNN” the power cuts abruptly but the audience was singing so much it sounded like they weren’t playing on purpose.
“Then after a few verses, we knew something was wrong.”
Another added: “Was hilarious that it cut right as the chorus began and the audience kept singing like it was part of the show.”
The cancellation comes months after Journey cancelled their UK tour at the last minute.

The band currently consists of singer Arnel Pineda, guitarist Neal Schon, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, bassist Todd Jensen and Jason Derlatka.
But back in August, with members embroiled in a legal battle, the band gave no explanation as they put the decision down to “circumstances beyond their control”.
“Due to circumstances beyond the band’s control, Journey’s UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled.
“Refunds will be made from your point of purchase.”
The 50th anniversary tour, which had already travelled across the U.S., was set to begin in Cardiff in October and travel to cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
It would have marked Journey’s first UK and Ireland tour in more than 10 years, and they were set to be joined by special guests Cheap Trick.
