Instead, it has become a migrant shelter, leading to accusations that the city is prioritizing migrants over struggling New Yorkers.

A local teacher who once supported progressive policies now says she feels unsafe. “I never thought I’d feel this way,” she admitted, acknowledging a shift in her political views due to the crisis.
