IT’S the heartwarming festive flick that’s staple viewing for many at Christmas year on year.
Yet for Love Actually actress Keira Knightley, watching the Richard Curtis movie in which she stars as fan-favourite Juliet, was purely a one-off.
The British actress, 39, opened up on only tuning in once – and revealed the reason why – in a recent interview on ITV daytime show Lorraine.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who was just 18 when she took on the role of the newlywed, told the programme in a pre-recorded segment: “It’s amazing how Love Actually just sort of grew and grew and grew and it really has taken on a life of it’s own.
“It’s so much a part of people’s Christmas traditions which is absolutely amazing.”
Making her shock reveal, Keira added: “I’ve only seen it once – which is nothing to do with it [the movie itself].
“I’ve only ever watched anything I’ve done once so it’s amazing that it has this whole life which is outside me, how nice.”
During a recent chat on The Graham Norton Show, Keira also told of the negative attention her role in the 2003 movie has brought.
She recalled a recent incident on the road and admitted: “I was stuck in traffic for ages recently and a car full of builders next to me started holding up the signs like in the movie.
“It was creepy and sweet at the same time, much like it was in the
film.”
Keira has spoken candidly about her time on-set – even admitting why she was forced to wear the baker boy-style hat her character has been known for.
A series of surprise facts about the much-loved flick recently came to light.
