IT’S FAIR to say MrBeast is a YouTube legend, thanks to his massive following.

And life has become even sweeter for the social media juggernaut after he became engaged to fiancee Thea Booysen on Christmas Day.

Who is Thea Booysen?

Thea Dooysen, 27, is a gamer and content creator.

She was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1997 and holds degrees in law, psychology and neuroscience.

Thea is also a published author, she wrote “The Marked Children” – a novel she started while she was in high school.

She is also an esports caster for CD Projekt Red, the creators of The Witcher franchise as well the Cyberpunk:2077 video game.

When did MrBeast and Thea begin dating?

The couple first met in 2022 when MrBeast visited Cape Town.

A mutual friend invited Thea to a dinner, and the two soon started chatting and hit it off over their mutual passion for YouTube and other topics.

They went public with their relationship in April 2022 at the Kids’ Choice Awards.

Who is MrBeast?

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 7, 1998.

He first joined YouTube originally uploading videos of video game playthroughs and net worth estimates of fellow YouTubers.

In January 2017, he uploaded a video of him counting to 100,000, which took a total of 40 hours.

After going viral, he joined a competition from PewDiePie to become the most-subscribed channel on YouTube.

He launched a virtual restaurant in 2020, MrBeast Burger.

Various restaurants are able to purchase franchise rights to Beast Burger, and customers can order the burgers via online delivery services.

MrBeast has also launched his own charity, Beast Philanthropy. He joined forces with NASA engineer Mark Rober to raise money for millions of trees to be planted, known as Team Trees.

In June 2022, MrBeast became one of the few content creators to surpass 100 million subscribers on YouTube.

As of January 2025, he has a whopping 340 million people subscribing to his channel.

He joined YouTube back in February 2012, according to his account.

Since going viral in 2017, MrBeast has given millions of dollars to various viewers.

He has donated over 100 cars, given away a private island and over 100 PS4s, and he even gave away $1 million in one video.
