TV presenter Maya Jama has had a few high-profile relationships.

In January 2025, it was reported that the star had sparked romance rumours with footballer Ruben Dias, after the pair appeared to spend New Year’s Eve together.

Maya and the Manchester City star were spotted dining together at Sa Capella in the Spanish island of Ibiza.

While the pair didn’t share any snaps, they looked to be dining together in a blurry image which has been shared on social media.

A female friend of Maya’s can also be seen at the table.

This is the second time romance rumours have swirled, with fans first speculating back in November 2024, after the pair followed each other on Instagram.

Stormzy

Maya dated on-off boyfriend, Stormzy, before appearing to ring in 2025 with the City centreback.

Announcing their breakup in July 2024, the former couple said: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup.

“But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.”

Maya continued: “We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits. ”

The Love Island host has also previously shared a relationship with NBA player Ben Simmons, which began during the summer of 2021.

The pair went public with their relationship by sharing a kiss during Wimbledon in July 2021.

They announced their engagement less than a year later in January 2022, but sadly the pair ended up going their separate ways.

In an exclusive with The Sun, a source said: “It’s been a difficult time for them.

“While they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realise that they just come from two different worlds.

“They now understand they don’t have the time they thought to dedicate to this relationship.

“After many long nights and hours of heartfelt talks, they finally realised as much as they love each other, their nonstop careers and endless travel have made it incredibly impossible to make it work.

“They had no idea the challenges they would face when handling all the logistics of making a life together in two countries.”

The source then told how Maya and Basketball star Ben’s sad conclusion was “one of the hardest decisions of their lives.”

Rico Gordon

Maya has also previously opened up about her former boyfriend Rico Gordon, who was tragically killed when she was just 16 years old.

Rico was shot during a gun battle in Bristol in 2011.

Maya discussed the trauma in an interview with Cosmopolitan, saying: “When I was 16 I went through a lot.

“With my boyfriend passing, it gave me a fearless approach to things. I felt like life was really short.”

She continued: “Out of everything that [has] happened in my life, that was a reality check on a massive scale.

“At 16 you think the world is a fairytale and it took me out of that. It made me even more determined.”

Glittering career

Maya Jama, born on August 14, 1994, is a presenter of Somali and Swedish descent.

She presents the hit dating show Love Island and is one of several judges starring on the nation’s favourite guessing game, The Masked Singer UK.

Maya will take over from Rita Ora after she quit the show.

She will join fellow judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan.

Maya has also hosted Glow Up, Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer, Walk The Line and The Circle.

Aside from her TV work, she has also enjoyed success in the world of fashion, working with brands such as Beauty Works, PrettyLittleThing and JD Sports, as well as modelling for Adidas and Maybelline.
