DUCK Dynasty is set to return to our screens in the summer of 2025 following an eight-year break.
Here we get to know Uncle Si, who was hospitalised following a fall in January 2025.
Who is Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si?
Silas Merritt “Si” Robertson, better known as Uncle Si, was born on April 27, 1948, in Vivian, Louisiana, and is the sixth of seven children in the Robertson family.
He is a beloved TV personality, Vietnam War veteran, and former reed maker for outdoor recreation company Duck Commander.
Reed makers prepare and tune the thin, flexible strips — typically made of Mylar — that vibrate to create duck call sounds.
Si resides in West Monroe, Louisiana, with his wife Christine.
They have two grown children, Trasa and Scott, and eight grandsons.
He has also pursued a music career with his band Si And The Si-cotics.
Military man
Si served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Can Tho, Mekong Delta.
He was drafted in 1968 after dropping out of Louisiana Tech University.
Si retired from the Army in 1993 with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Duck Commander
Later the same year, Si joined his brother Phil Robertson‘s Duck Commander business, specializing in making reeds for duck calls.

Despite initially having a behind-the-scenes role, he became a fan-favorite on A&E’s Duck Dynasty.
The show started in 2012 and ran for 11 seasons until 2017.
Duck Dynasty returns
Si and the gang are returning to the screen for Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
It is scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2025.
He also co-hosts the Duck Call Room podcast and previously had his own spin-off show Going Si-Ral.
Hunting accident
In January 2025, Si had a hunting accident that briefly hospitalized him.
It happened during a hunting trip with his co-stars Justin Martin and Phillip McMillan in Arkansas.
The group had just returned to their boathouse when Si attempted to exit the boat in a hurry, slipped on the muddy terrain and fell onto his oxygen machine.
Speaking on the Duck Call Room podcast, Justin explained: “Typical Silas Robertson, he’s in a dang hurry to get out of the boat and up the steep hill.”
An image of the star in hospital attached to tubes was shown for viewers on the YouTube episode.
Justin continued: “He fell trying to get out of the boat. He fell on his oxygen machine but he bounced right back up.
“He didn’t want anybody to see that he fell. But he was covered in mud.”
Si tried to brush off the incident, saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Yep, no problem, yeah,” but his co-stars became more concerned as the day went on.
Justin added: “He was real quiet, another red flag… no stories.”
Phillip said: “I get a call from Elizabeth, [Si’s wife] Christine’s caretaker. She says, ‘Si’s oxygen level’s really low. Take him now to the ER.’ My heart just dropped.”
At the hospital, Phillip recalled: “I said, ‘What is going on?’ And I figured he would start laughing and talking. But no, he said, ‘Man, I’m in a lot of pain’.”
Doctors conducted X-rays, ruling out broken ribs — they did however suspect there was bruising from the fall.
Si’s low oxygen levels initially caused alarm, but medical staff suggested he may have experienced panic attacks as a contributing factor.
Thankfully, Si was discharged to recover at home.
