MOVIE fans have reacted with glee after the trailer for the Freaky Friday sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan dropped online.

The famous actresses are reuniting for Freakier Friday after first starring together 22 years ago in the body swap movie adventure, Freaky Friday.

The trailer for the new movie landed online and showed Jamie Lee and Lindsay reprising their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman.

But in the new movie, Lindsay is a mom herself to a daughter and soon to be step-mom with her onscreen husband, played by The Good Place’s Manny Jacinto.

The trailer opens with the mother-daughter duo attending a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer, Saturday Night Live) who accurately understood their lives and bodies had intertwined previously.

The pair try to downplay the clairvoyant’s spooky premonition that they might experience the same fate again soon.

Cut to Tess and Anna experiencing a ground-shaking moment at home, only to realize they have indeed swapped bodies with another human. But in a new twist, they have swapped bodies not with each other, but Lindsay’s daughter and step-daughter.

The trailer then shows a series of manic moments as the four try to navigate their way out of the situation as Chappel Roan’s song, Hot To Go plays over the top.

Some familiar faces make an appearance in the trailer, including Chad Michael Murray’s makes a “grand, sexy entrance” as he reprises his role as Jake.

Elaine Hendrix, who co-starred with Lohan in 1998’sThe Parent Trap is also briefly spotted in the trailer.

Produced by Disney, the trailer also reveals Freakier Friday will hit cinemas on August 8.

Fans reacted to surprise trailer on X, formerly Twitter.

“So excited about Freakier Friday. It looks like a good reboot and we’re so happy @lindsaylohan is back !!” wrote one person.

Another added: “FREAKIER FRIDAY IS COMING AND IM SO NOT READY.”

And a third wrote: “I’m absolutely thrilled by the Freakier Friday trailer! The body-swap premise is a classic that seems to be executed creatively, offering a fresh twist on the genre. The trailer’s range of comic and dramatic moments hint that it’s going to be an intense, hilarious ride. Can’t wait!”
