DRAKE and Kendrick Lamar were once close pals, collaborating on huge tracks like Poetic Justice and F**kin Problems.
However, their friendship was short-lived and they are due to go head-to-head at the 2025 Super Bowl.
What happened between Drake and Kendrick Lamar?
Although some fans believe Drake and Kendrick Lamar were secretly feuding for years, their beef escalated with the latter’s featured verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song Like That.
On the abovementioned track, Kendrick referenced Drake’s single First Person Shooter and rapped: “Yeah, get up with me, f**k sneak dissing…
“…First Person Shooter, I hope they came with three switches.
“Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD…Motherf**k the Big three…n***a, it’s just big me.”
Kendrick also alluded to Drake’s album For All the Dogs and added: “For all your dogs gettin’ buried, that’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”
Kendrick’s verse responded to Drake and J. Cole’s previous namedrop in their joint single First Person Shooter, which the latter rapped: “Love when they argue the hardest emcee…
“…Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? We the big three like we started a league. But right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.”
On March 25, 2024, Drake referenced his and Kendrick’s fallout during his concert in Sunrise, Florida.
During his performance, the Certified Lover Boy rapper told the crowd: “A lot of people ask me how I’m feeling.
“I’ma let you know how I’m feeling. I got my f**king head up high, my back straight…
“…I’m 10 f–king toes down in Florida and anywhere else I go.
“And I know that no matter what, it’s not a n***a on this Earth that could ever f**k with me in my life!”
Fuel was added to the fire when Kendrick released Not Like Us, which accuses Drake of being a pedophile.

When did Kendrick release Not Like Us?
The tune won Kendrick five gongs for best music video, rap song, rap performance, song, and record of the year at the Grammys in 2025.
Canadian superstar Drake sued Universal Music Group with a defamation lawsuit over the track.
Kendrick will perform the hit, which has already streamed over a billion times on Spotify, at the halftime show at the Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025.
The Sun reported that sources close to Kendrick have been trying to convince him to ditch the song from the setlist, but to no avail.
Kendrick is refusing to drop the song, no matter the backlash.
A source told The U.S. Sun that Kendrick is “f****ing pumped” for the Superbowl.
When did Drake release Push Ups?
On April 19, 2024, Drake responded to Kendrick’s Like That verse with his two songs, Push Ups and Taylor Made Freestyle.
In Push Ups, the former rapped: “Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty.
“Then, we need a verse for the Swifties. How the f**k you big steppin’ with a size seven mens on?
“Pipsqueak, pipe down. You ain’t in no big three.
“SZA got you wiped down…Travis got you wiped down…Savage got you wiped down. Like your label, boy, you in a scope right now.
“And you gon’ feel the aftermath of what I write down. I’m at the top of the mountain, so you tight now.
“Just to have this talk with your a**, I had to hike down.”
How did Kendrick respond to Drake?
On April 30, 2024, Kendrick released Euphoria, a diss track aimed at Drake.
The track’s title alludes to Drake’s executive production credits on the HBO series of the same name.
In the song, he also references Drake’s rumored altercation with Diddy, surgery rumors, his relationship with his son Adonis, and his friendship with Lil Wayne.
“I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he act tough,” the former rapped.
“You gon’ make a n***a bring back Puff, let me see if Chubbs really crash somethin’
“Yeah, my first one like my last one. It’s a classic, you don’t have one.
“Let your core audience stomach that…didn’t tell ’em where you get your abs from.
“You was signed to a n***a that’s signed to a n***a that said he was signed to that n***a
“Try cease and desist on the Like That record. Hoe, what? You ain’t like that record?
“Y’all think all of my life is rap? That’s hoe s**t.
“I got a son to raise, but I can see you don’t know nothin’ ’bout that.”
On May 3, Kendrick dissed Drake again.
This time, he continued to take jabs at the latter in a track called 6:16 in LA.
