In one of the largest immigration enforcement operations in recent history, authorities arrested approximately 90 illegal migrants in the Colony Ridge area near Houston. This large-scale raid was led by Border Czar Tom Homan, who confirmed that the operation was just the first phase of a larger criminal investigation.

Colony Ridge, a predominantly Hispanic development, became the focus of the raid on Monday morning. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), along with other law enforcement agencies, targeted criminal and undocumented individuals. Many of those arrested were known to have prior criminal records, and officials confirmed that some had outstanding warrants. Law enforcement officers apprehended individuals at various locations, including workplaces and traffic stops conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

According to Homan, this operation was different from previous enforcement actions. Rather than targeting a random group of individuals, authorities focused on dismantling a broader criminal network operating in the area. Among those arrested were multiple individuals with serious criminal backgrounds. Several of them were identified as sexual predators, including offenders convicted of sexual misconduct with minors. Additionally, at least one individual taken into custody had a prior conviction for homicide.

ICE officials provided further details on the arrests, revealing that one of the individuals detained was a three-time previously deported criminal from El Salvador. This individual had a criminal arrest warrant for the repeated abuse of a minor. Authorities emphasized that cases like his are a top priority in ongoing enforcement efforts.

Homan stated that the current focus is on criminal migrants who pose a national security threat. However, he also made it clear that anyone in the country illegally is not exempt from potential enforcement action. “We are prioritizing those who present an immediate danger to the community, but make no mistake—anyone in the country illegally is subject to enforcement,” he said.
