Once portraying a young Elvis in the film Nobody, Drake Milligan transitioned from the silver screen to the music industry. Throughout the years, the singer appeared on shows like American Idol and even America’s Got Talent. Although gaining some praise on American Idol, Milligan decided to exit the show early. And when it came to America’s Got Talent, he ended his time on the show in 3rd place. Not letting the loss get to him, Milligan continues to explore a career in music. And recently, Blake Shelton brought him out on stage to help him cover “All My Ex’s Live In Texas.”
No matter how many years passed since Strait released the hit song, it is considered a treasure within country music. With every country singer today honoring Strait at some point in their careers, Milligan was shocked when Shelton called for him. And thankfully, cameras were there to catch the special moment.

Performing at the Fishers Event Center on March 29th, Milligan was more than happy to open for Shelton. But even after his own set, Shelton wanted to share the stage with his fellow singer. Putting his arm around him, both singers embraced the moment, having fun as the crowd also got into the performance.
Drake Milligan Thanks Blake Shelton For Special Moment
Knowing how to work a crowd, Shelton never missed a beat as he celebrated the legacy of Strait and helped shine the spotlight on Milligan. Thankful for the support and opportunity, Milligan posted some pictures and a video on his Instagram, he wrote, “Opened up for @blakeshelton for the first time this weekend and had no idea he was gonna pull me back out to sing some George Strait with him. Such a cool moment. Thanks for havin us, Blake!!”
Fans loved watching Milligan perform alongside Shelton, dubbing the pairing a “dream duo.” Other comments read, “Drake, Wow! You were literally electric! And so much fun! I could feel the love from home! You are on your way to the top!” Another person added, “Truly enjoying watching you star rise, Drake.”
Outside of opening for Shelton, Milligan will hit the road as an opener to other country stars including Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson. With his year stacked with performances, it’s only a matter of time before Milligan looked for his own opener.
