Garage Glamorous: Inside Lady Gaga’s Car Collection

Since the release of her debut album The Fame in 2008, Lady Gaga has become a household name thanks to her music – which spans a broad variety of genres from pop to country to jazz – and her unique style. However, music and fashion are not her only interests: despite being a native New Yorker who did not drive until later in life (she only got her license in 2016, at the age of 30), the “Bad Romance” singer has acquired a large and impressive collection of cars.

The contents of her garage are as eclectic as her discography: with a mix of classic and modern cars, ultra-luxury cars, and even pickup trucks, there is something from every corner of the automotive world. Let’s explore all the cars that have been a part of Lady Gaga’s collection over the years, from a vintage Mercedes to a brand new Cybertruck.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Rolls-Royce is featured prominently in Lady Gaga’s car collection: she has owned three cars from the legendary British marque. Among them are two examples of the Phantom VIII, the latest generation of Rolls’ ultra-luxury sedan; the Phantom VIII was first launched in 2017, and is still in production today.

But what’s better than one Rolls-Royce Phantom? According to Lady Gaga, two of them. In contrast with its dark-hued stablemate, this one comes with a white paint job, a tan leather interior and black wheels. Interestingly for such a high-profile celebrity, Gaga prefers to drive her own Roller; while many Rolls owners choose to have a chauffeur drive them around, Gaga has been spotted behind the wheel of her Phantom several times.

2Rolls-Royce Corniche

The third Rolls-Royce in Gaga’s garage is not a Phantom, but a Corniche. One of the first cars to join her collection, this red Corniche became associated with the pop star after she used it to travel across New York to promote the launch of her perfume in 2012. Two years later, Gaga sold the car at auction for $125,000, raising money for Musicares, a charity that supports struggling artists.

3Lamborghini Huracan

No celebrity car collection would be complete without a Lamborghini, and Gaga’s is no exception. She owns a black 2017 Huracan LP 610-4 Coupe, and has been spotted driving it to several high-profile sporting events, including a World Series baseball game and even the 2017 Super Bowl, where she later performed at the halftime show. The Huracan is said to be the singer’s favorite car; with 602 horsepower and all-wheel-drive, it’s not hard to see why.

Ford Bronco

The next vehicle on the list couldn’t be further from the Huracan if it tried. Jumping back in time several decades, this classic Bronco is an immaculately kept vintage truck, which the singer has been spotted taking out for a drive around Los Angeles. In her Netflix documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, she is filmed accidentally hitting producer Mark Ronson’s car, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, with this Bronco. Another Ford Bronco (a more modern version, with a matte black finish) is also featured in the music video for her song Perfect Illusion, being driven across the desert by the star herself.

5Chevrolet El Camino

N/A

Lady Gaga’s classic car roster continues with a Chevy El Camino. First unveiled in 1959 and produced until 1987 (with a four-year break between 1960 and 1964), the curious hybrid between a wagon and a pickup truck became an icon of American motoring over the years. Gaga’s El Camino is finished in black; she posted a picture of herself driving the car on social media in 2016 with the caption “Some things never go out of style”. We agree.

6Chevrolet Nova

Gaga’s love of classic Chevys does not stop with the El Camino; her 1970s Nova SS, which resides at the singer’s Los Angeles home, sports a bright blue paint job and classic muscle-car styling that immediately make it stand out from the crowd. From the late 1960s onwards, the Nova SS was offered as a standalone performance package, rather than as a trim level for what had been known as the Chevy II.

7Mercedes-Benz W123

There are several blue vehicles in Lady Gaga’s collection; alongside the Bronco and the Nova, there’s also a Mercedes-Benz W123 with a Biscayne Blue paint job. Car enthusiasts will immediately recognise Gaga’s vintage Merc as one of the most notoriously sturdy, reliable models produced by the German brand. Created by legendary automotive designer Bruno Sacco, the W123 has become an iconic model in Mercedes’ history, both thanks to its design and its reputation on the mechanical front.

8Mercedes-Benz E350

Lady Gaga may be the owner of an amazing car collection, but when it comes to actually driving, she was somewhat of a late bloomer. The pop star only passed her driving test in July 2016, a few months after her 30th birthday. When posting on social media to celebrate her achievement, Gaga uploaded a picture of the car she passed her test in, a white E-Class: while one might be forgiven for thinking the car belonged to a driving instructor, the custom “BVLY HLZ” plate suggests otherwise.

9Ford F-150 SVT Lightning

Gaga’s love of classic pickup trucks continues with her Ford F-150 SVT Lightning. Her truck belongs to the SVT Lightning’s first generation, an early ‘90s example with a cherry red finish. The singer has been photographed with her beloved truck several times, including in one instance where she got pulled over by the police. She later explained on Twitter she “hadn’t received the plates” for her new truck yet, which prompted the traffic stop.

Now, something more in keeping with what you would expect a celebrity to get around in. The ultra-luxury sedan that is the Mercedes-Maybach S650, was built with VIPs in mind, with all manner of creature comforts on board, including a premium audio system (ideal for listening to demo recordings on the go), heated massage seats with their own entertainment, and wireless headphones. The cloud-like ride quality, ideal for a pop star being driven around between tour dates, completes the picture.

11Lincoln Continental

Another iconic classic in Gaga’s collection is a 1965 Lincoln Continental, sporting a classy off-white finish, wire-spoke wheels, and a deep red leather interior. This iconic convertible is not just note-worthy because of its style, but also because of its place in automotive history: after receiving updates for the 1965 model year, the Continental became the first Lincoln model to feature disc brakes, as well as the updated grille design that would become notoriously associated with the brand.

12Ford Mustang

The F-150 isn’t the only classic Ford in Gaga’s collection; there’s also a classic Mustang in the mix. The singer’s Mustang was built in 1967, only two years after the model’s launch; finished in Ivy Green, it’s equipped with limited edition rally wheels. She used the Mustang to travel to the launch event for her fifth studio album, Joanne, released in the fall of 2016.

13Audi R8

N/A

Most people don’t opt for a high-powered sports car as their vehicle of choice when learning how to drive; however, most people are not Lady Gaga. Shortly after she started taking driving lessons in 2012, she was spotted driving an R8, finished in silver. Sharing a platform with the Lamborghini Gallardo and Huracan, the R8 is Audi’s sportiest and most visually striking model: in other words, a car fit for a superstar.

14Porsche Boxster

The next item on the list may be owned by a celebrity, but it’s slightly more accessible to us mere mortals. The Porsche 718 Boxster (alongside its coupe sibling, the Cayman) is Porsche’s entry-level offering, promising sports car thrills at less eye-watering prices. Gaga is clearly not the only Boxster fan out there: until the arrival of the Cayenne SUV on the market, the Boxster was Porsche’s best-selling vehicle for several years.

15Tesla Cybertruck

The Cybertruck, Tesla’s much-hyped (and often controversial) latest creation, finally arrived on the market at the end of 2023, over four years after it had first been announced. Despite experiencing several technical problems and recalls, it still became an unlikely automotive icon of sorts, thanks to the endless memes and humor it spawned on social media. Apparently, the oddly-shaped pickup is also one of Gaga’s favorites: earlier this year she was spotted getting in a Cybertruck, although it is unclear whether the vehicle is hers or someone else’s.
