The new duo of LeBron James and Luka Doncic have helped the Los Angeles Lakers become one of the hottest teams coming out of the All-Star break.

On Sunday night, the Lakers secured their sixth straight win with a 108-102 win over Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, assuring the mini-series sweep. And the former Dallas Mavericks star made a bit of history in the eighth game with his new team.

Coming into the night, Doncic had recorded 99 consecutive games with a made 3-point field goal. With 10:14 remaining in the first quarter against the Clippers, the Slovenian hit his first 3-pointer of the game, a stepback 26-footer, marking his 100th straight game with a made 3-pointer.

In doing so, Doncic now becomes just the fifth player in NBA history to hit a 3-pointer in 100 straight games, according to StatMamba on X.

Doncic still has a while to go to break Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s record of 268 consecutive games with a made 3-pointer, which he set between 2018 and 2023. Curry also holds the next best streak with 157 straight games, while Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard is in third with 150, per Basketball-Reference.

In the win against the Clippers, Doncic finished with 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting, six rebounds and nine assists. LeBron James added 17 points, five rebounds and nine assists.

The Lakers now jump to 38-21 on the season, and after the Denver Nuggets fell to the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon, they have now moved to the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference standings.
