Kelly Clarkson’s live trio performance of her classic song “Heartbeat Song” brought her 9-year-old daughter River Rose and son Remington “Remy” Alexander together for a very memorable occasion. At Clarkson’s Bakkt Theater show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the family trio performed the hit synth-pop song.
Since “Heartbeat Song” is her daughter’s favorite song, River Rose held down the fort by joining her voice with her mother’s. Clarkson chose this song. Remy appeared to be a natural on stage, unaffected by the sizable audience in attendance. Watch the video below to see this lovely family moment.
River Rose has been rocking this song since she was a toddler; she loves it so much, Clarkson said to the crowd when she asked what song she wanted to sing on tour. She said, “Please let me sing this song.” The celebrity continued, saying that River Rose chose her own outfit before inviting her to perform live and remarking that the child “killed it” during soundcheck.
Supporters expressed their appreciation for the mother-daughter rocking out together by writing things like, “That’s a moment she will never forget.” When she appeared on stage for the first time with her mother” and “A star is born! River Rose gained the courage to stand up and sing passionately thanks to Kelly. Kelly, that’s what we adore about you! River Rose was asked to sing again the next night at the residency by Clarkson, and for added charm, her 7-year-old brother Remington Alexander also joined in.
Clarkson’s marriage to her manager at the time, Brandon Blackstock, produced both of her children. River Rose and Remington Alexander were born in June 2014 and April 2016, respectively, after the couple’s October 20, 2013, marriage. March 2022 saw the finalization of the couple’s divorce, following a drawn-out legal process that made headlines.
The lead single from Clarkson’s seventh studio album, Piece by Piece, was “Heartbeat Song.” Her biggest hit in the last ten years, the song was warmly received and even went platinum in the US. The song reached the top of the US Dance Club Songs chart and several other national charts across the globe, peaking at number ten.
The songwriters Mitch Allan, Kara DioGuardi, Jason Evigan, and Audra Mae wrote the song “Heartbeat Song,” however the song’s origins later generated dispute. The melody and chords were compared by critics to Jimmy Eat World’s 2001 alternative rock hit “The Middle.”
In response to the criticism, Clarkson stated, “I just sang the song; I didn’t write it.” I missed that, though. Nobody worked behind the scenes. I thought Jimmy Eat World’s statement, “Hey, no harm, no foul,” was extremely cool. There are a limited number of chords. Jimmy Eat World did not seem to continue the lawsuit, even though it appeared to have a good chance of victory in court, and the band is still not included as co-writers on the song “Heartbeat Song” composition credits.
