“Still in Disbelief Over This One”: Carrie Underwood Delivers a Rocking Duet of “Last Resort” With Papa Roach in Las Vegas

Since winning American Idol back in 2005, Carrie Underwood proved herself to be a top singer in the music industry with hits like “Before He Cheats” and “Jesus Take the Wheel.” Although exploring genres like country and gospel, Underwood’s love for music went far beyond her own career. Using the music to help her exercise, Underwood recently shocked fans when she appeared alongside Papa Roach to perform “Last Resort.”

When fans traveled to Las Vegas to see Papa Roach on his Rise Of The Papa Roach Tour, they had no idea that Underwood was backstage. While Papa Roach put on a stellar set, the concert took a turn when Underwood walked on stage with the crowd roaring. With Papa Roach kicking off “Last Resort”, it didn’t take long before Underwood jumped in. As flames shot into the air behind them, the two dominated the stage. Even the security guard couldn’t help but also sing along.

Thankfully, fans caught the special performance and shared it online. Looking at what fans had to say, comments included, “Never thought out of all people Carrie Underwood would collaborate with Papa Roach. This is awesome!” Another person added, “I hope rock is making a comeback because this show was fire.”

Underwood was still pinching herself following the surprise performance, noting she is “still in disbelief over this one.”

Carrie Underwood & Papa Roach Perform “Leave A Light On”

That wasn’t their only collaboration throughout the night as Underwood and Papa Roach also performed the hit song “Leave A Light On.” During the performance, the screen behind them showed the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. One of the screens even flashed the Suicide Crisis Lifeline number (988).

Outside of wanting to just entertain fans, “Leave A Light On” hoped to “Raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health awareness, alongside partner organization(s) the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention(AFSP), who will receive royalties generated from both artists from the song, in perpetuity.”

The statement asked fans to visit AFSP.org to learn about the warning signs of friends and family silently suffering. The website offered resource tools to help find support for those in need.
