JESSICA Simpson’s husband Eric Johnson often parties at West Hollywood bars without her – and the couple has been drifting apart “for years,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

Jessica, 44, and Eric, who married in 2014 and share three children together, have sparked divorce rumors in recent months.

The singer and fashion designer failed to mention her husband on social media for their 10th wedding anniversary back in July.

She also recently shared a cryptic post while recording music in Tennessee on Instagram, writing: “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”

One insider told The U.S. Sun this week divorce has been on the cards for a long time, as their marriage has had many ups and downs.

“Jessica and Eric have had problems for years, even before the pandemic. It’s sadly no surprise they could be heading for divorce,” the insider said.

“Eric has often left Jessica alone at night to go out partying at bars, he didn’t ever seem to care if anyone recognized him or not.

“She is sober now, so that’s not her scene at all.

“He was even spotted at the likes of Hyde on Sunset, known for a younger crowd and celebrities, and didn’t wear his ring.”

“It’s no secret in Hollywood that they have been drifting apart for a long time.”

Eric, 45, was seen without his wedding ring on a hike last week with his parents in Los Angeles.

Neither have commented on the rumors and have not filed for divorce, but sources say it could soon be official.

It seems Jessica fought hard to try and save their marriage and has been focused on sobriety in recent years.

In 2020, the singer shared a photo of herself on Instagram in pink sweats after a night of drinking in 2017 before she quit, calling it “an unrecognizable version of myself.”

She wrote, “I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore.

“I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.

“Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted.

“There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic.

“The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self-sabotage.

The couple is said to be living separate lives but have not filed for divorce.

Jessica Simpson finalized her divorce from Nick Lachey in 2006 and went on to date the likes of John Mayer and Tony Romo.

She then met former footballer Eric Johnson and the pair went public in 2010, with him popping the question just months later in November.

They welcomed their firstborn, Maxwell, in 2012, followed by Ace in 2013, before finally tying the knot in 2014.

The couple then had their third child, Birdie, in 2019.

She previously gushed about the star and said they “rarely fight”.

But rumors of a separation have been ripe for several months, after the star was seen without her wedding ring.

She also failed to mention Eric on their 10th wedding anniversary, and he has not appeared in any romantic social media posts.

The last time she shared snaps with her husband was during Easter break with her children, but they were not standing together.

They are yet to shut down rumors they are separated and reps for the pair did not respond to comment calls from The U.S. Sun.

“The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power. Today I do.”

But despite ditching booze and focusing on her health, it appears her marriage has still been difficult as she raises their three young children; Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, five.

Jessica and ex-NFL star Eric, 45, are still listed as residents at her $11.5 million mansion in Los Angeles, which she bought in 2013.

The U.S. Sun revealed last week that she took out four mortgages on the property as she fought to buy back her fashion brand.

The pair put their home on the market for $22 million in September 2023, as they began spending more time in Nashville, but it was later removed and she still lives there.

The house is situated in guard-gated Hidden Hills, and is described in an online listing as a “sophisticated Cape Cod-inspired estate located atop an intimate cul-de-sac.”

It rests on around 2.25 acres with twinkling city and mountain views.

The 13,274-square-foot property includes a dramatic foyer with a spiral staircase, often seen in Christmas photographs posted by Jessica on Instagram.

Jessica and Eric confirmed that they were an item back in July 2010, but are believed to have been dating months before and tied the knot in 2014.

She was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006, while Eric also has an ex-wife, Keri D’Angelo.

A source told US Weekly amid split rumors that the pair are now living separately.

They said the pair are “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible.”

Another source told the outlet Jessica is “heartbroken” and the separation has been an incredibly “difficult time” for the star.

“[It was] not an easy decision for her,” the insider added.
