He may have been axed from The Voice – but Sir Tom Jones ’ wealth has increased by £5m in the last year.

The Sunday Times today publishes its annual Rich List and Sir Tom is at number 14 of the top 50 Music Millionaires – down two spots from number 12 last year.

The Pontypridd -born Delilah singer is now worth £155m, despite having been dropped as a judge by the BBC for The Voice last summer.

Meanwhile, Adele, whose father is Welsh, tops the Young Music Rich List of performers aged 30 and under.

The 27-year-old singer added £35m to her personal fortune in the last 12 months, meaning her total wealth now amounts to £85m.

Those figures put her in 30th place on the overall Music Millionaires top 50 – up 13 places from number 43 last year.

Adele – Britain’s richest ever female musician – has benefited from the worldwide success of her long-awaited third album, 25, released last November.

The singer-songwriter is now hard on the heels of Ireland’s wealthiest female performer, Enya, who is worth £91m.

The annual list sets out the wealthiest performers and composers in Britain and Ireland.

Topping the list is Sir Paul McCartney, who with his wife Nancy Shevell, shares a joint fortune of £760m – up £30m on last year.

American-born Shevell has a £150m stake in her father’s New England Motor Freight trucking operation.

In second place is musical theatre composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has a total wealth of £715m, representing an increase of £65m from last year.

Behind him in third place are Irish rockers U2, who are collectively worth £500m, which has increased by £69m from 2015.

Sir Paul McCartney, Lord Lloyd Webber and U2 all occupy the same positions in the list this year as they did 12 months ago.

Other artists in the top 10 include Sir Elton John, worth £280m, Ringo Starr, worth £200m, and Sting, worth £185m.

The Rolling Stones – Sir Mick Jagger (£235m), Keith Richards (£220m), Charlie Watts (£120m), and Ronnie Wood (£55m) – with combined fortunes of £630m, are the wealthiest band.

David Bowie’s widow Iman Abdulmajid and his filmmaker son Duncan Jones join this year’s list with a joint family fortune of £90m.

That figure is based on the £70m from Bowie’s will, their own wealth and royalties from the chart success of Bowie’s music after his death.

The Music Millionaires top 50 is released today , ahead of the 28th annual Sunday Times Rich List to be published this weekend.
