It’s always awesome when celebs sing with their siblings (have you seen that clip of Miley and Noah Cyrus taking on a sisterly hit?). But in 2011, a golden-era Justin Bieber invited his own little sis on stage for a song, except baby Jazmyn was only three years old!
This super cute viral video has racked up over 22 million views on YouTube, and fans still keep flocking back to the clip even thirteen years later.
It all kicks off with a 17-year-old Justin calling his sister’s nickname, “Jazzy,” in circles until the tiny star runs on stage in an all-pink tracksuit and a haircut which belongs in the 70s. Justin worms a sweet mini interview out of his smiling sister, who is still just learning to talk in her babyish voice, about how she shares her name with Disney’s Princess Jasmine. But when Justin mimics Jazzy’s tiny voice, the vid cuts to girls in the audience crying their eyes out at how wholesome the moment is.
Justin had already sung his breakthrough hit “Baby” once before that night, but he reprised it specially for his little sis and let her take on all the lead lyrics! The whole performance is adorably embarrassing; Jazzy holding the tune as well as any toddler could in her untrained, pipsqueak voice.
Even Justin’s chart-topping vocals are wholesomely off in this clip, matching his sister’s lyrics in support before leading her through the words of the verses. But as chaotic as this performance is, it’s amazing to watch Justin teaching his sibling the ropes when it comes to singing, and catching how well Jazzy can remember and keep up with the lyrics!
While talent clearly runs through the family, this clip proves that it doesn’t always matter how good you are at making music, it’s about the joy you get, and are able to give other people, from making it. And fans in the YouTube comments section are feeling the effect. As one viewer commented, “I really can’t stop smiling. That was so cute,” another wrote, “Not a big Justin Bieber fan, but this absolutely made my heart [burst] into a million pieces. Jazmyn is the sweetest little girl.”
Viewers are equally smitten by Justin’s genuine personality, revealing, “The way Justin speaks to her so fondly as an older brother is honestly the cutest thing ever.” And even before Justin and wife Hailey Bieber welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, last summer, this clip was busy convincing fans that Justin would make a great and loving father.
Are you ready to feel old yet? Jazmyn is now 16 years old, and boasts over 1.5 million followers on Instagram. Readers can check out her amazing transformation over on her page, @jazmynbieber!
This adorable moment from Justin Bieber’s golden era truly captures the magic of sibling bonds, drawing fans back year after year.
