Country music legend and Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis was honored alongside Charlie Daniels and Fred Foster for the prestigious recognition that most can only dream of. Their Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony served as the game changing moment in which Travis was inducted into the coveted hall by none other than legendary country musician Garth Brooks.
Amongst various other artists, Brooks also gave a tribute performance to the new inductee, giving the entire audience the chills with his incredible rendition of Travis’ hit “Three Wooden Crosses.”
Brooks sang of the tragic story Travis originally told in 2002, describing a bus full of men and women from various backgrounds that ultimately crashes and kills all but one. The hit song conveys the idea that the lone survivor, a stripper, was given another opportunity by God to live a better live and right her wrongs as a child of Christ.
Viewers of Brooks’ performance hailed his tribute as “perfection” and praised the singer for his incredible talent and genuine emotion. The recording even briefly panned to Travis, watched the moving tribute and even nodded his head to the rhythm.
