The Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic are contesting it for the playoff berth. And they are playing like every game matters. Paolo Banchero and Georges Niang kept their high spirits and went after each other during their recent face-off.

Earlier in the game, fans were curious to know what really happened on the court. However, it was not clear what Niang really said, but after the audio from the game leaked, Banchero definitely had the last laugh.

A leaked audio recording of a recent NBA matchup between the Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks captured a lively exchange between Magic star Paolo Banchero and veteran player Georges Niang. The incident occurred following a controversial foul call in which Banchero was accused of flopping. Niang, reacting to the call, voiced his frustration, prompting Banchero to respond with a confident retort.

Here’s the full back-and-forth between Paolo Banchero and George Niang, as per the leaked audio:

Paolo: “You mad you can’t get that call? I get buckets.”

Niang: “No… keep shooting that midrange. See where that gets you.

Paolo: “You saw what happened last year.”

Code Reds Rece Hinds, Elly De La Cruz Give Reds Desperately Needed Lift
CINCINNATI — It’s been a typically up-and-down week for the 2024 Cincinnati Reds as they try to make a push before the All-Star break to get above .500 and generate momentum for a second-half playoff push. Rece Hinds has come out of nowhere to provide a spark and Elly De La Cruz and Hunter Greene are both headed to the All-Star Game in Texas for the first time. Mark Sheldon of MLB.com joins Trags to break it down on the latest edition of the Code Reds podcast.

Niang: “You went home.”

Paolo: “I busted your a**.”

However, Banchero let his stats do the talking while spitting out some words at Niang. With 29 points, seven rebounds, and five assists by the end of the third quarter, he more than backed up his words on the court.

Paolo Banchero Shined In Magic’s Victory Despite Verbal War

While Paolo Banchero got everyone’s attention for his heated exchange with Georges Niang, it did not affect his scoring. Banchero scored 36 points, leading Orlando to a comeback 114-108 victory against the Hawks. Despite facing a daunting 19-point deficit, the Magic clawed their way back into the game.

With the score tied at 103-103 in the final minutes, Banchero stepped up, teaming with Cole Anthony to hit back-to-back 3-pointers that shifted the momentum firmly in Orlando’s favor.

Though Banchero was not the lone warrior on his team, he got help from his teammates Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. Wagner added 25 points to the tally, and Carter Jr. dominated the boards with a season-high 15 rebounds.

This win snapped a three-game losing streak to Atlanta and allowed the Magic to gain a crucial 1.5-game lead over the Hawks in the race for the No. 7 spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The victory also evened up the season series at 1-1, with two more matches still to come as the regular season concludes.
