KATHIE Lee Gifford has reminded Jenna Bush Hager how much the current anchor wanted her job during a recent return to the show the Today alum used to host.

The 70-year-old former Today host sat down with Jenna, 42, and her co-anchor Hoda Kotb during Tuesday’s episode of the morninig show.

Kathie’s daughter Cassidy Gifford also joined them for an appearance to discuss the 70-year-old’s new NBC drama The Baxters.

But she couldn’t stop herself from reminiscing about the old days when she was a part of the show.

While chatting with Kathie, Hoda, 59, pointed out many of the Today crew that was still working with the company.

Kathie remembered many of them fondly as she looked around Studio 1A.

“What does it feel like coming back?” Hoda asked.

“It feels good. It’s been five years,” Kathie replied.

She looked right at Jenna.

“You wanted my job so bad,” she remarked, making a bitter face, rolling her eyes and shaking her head.

Hoda and Jenna burst into laughter at the comment.

“Bet you’re happy now!” Kathie said, unable to keep from laughing herself.

“You could smell it on her before,” she added about Jenna.

“Sorry about her, guys,” Cassidy apologized as the hosts continued laughing.

GOLDEN GIRL

During Kathie’s appearance on the Today Show, Jenna also chatted wth the former host about a potential Golden Bachelorette gig.

Jenna tried to sway Kathie into participating in the dating-centric reality show.

Previously, she had insisted during an episode of the morning show that Kathie would make a great contestant.

“We want to apologize for causing drama around The Golden Bachelorette,” Jenna told Kathie.

“But, we stand by the fact that we think you would be the best Golden Bachelorette of all time.”

Hoda agreed and added that Kathie’s storyline could be an improvement for the dating show.

“You’re not someone who would ever go sucking face with someone in a hot tub,” she joked.

“Well, maybe, but not on air,” Jenna quipped with a laugh.

KATHIE’S WAY

Hoda couldn’t stop thinking about how Kathie would approach her moment on Golden Bachelorette.

She insisted Kathie would make the men “romance” her while part of the competition.

“Sing me a song, write me a poem,” Kathie said after noting she’d have to have the Bachelor “earn” her affection.

Jenna made it clear again just how much she wants Kathie to join the reality show.

But Kathie reminded her that she can’t since she hasn’t ever been formally offered the position.

The Golden Bachelorette will hit the airwaves this fall.

The Bachelorette herself has not been announced yet.
