THREE years after her rocky seven-year relationship with Ryan Adams came to an end, Mandy Moore married folk rock singer-songwriter Taylor Goldsmith.

Here we take a look at Taylor’s life and career, how he got together with Mandy and how many kids they have together.

Who is Taylor Goldsmith?

Taylor Goldsmith is the lead vocalist, guitarist and chief songwriter in the band Dawes.

He was born and raised in Southern California in a musical family and his father, Lenny Goldsmith, was the lead singer of the R&B band Tower Of Power.

Taylor attended Malibu High School, where he formed a punk rock band with one of his friends.

He later went on to form the indie band Dawes and has written numerous songs about his wife Mandy.

Taylor penned Dawes’ track Never Gonna Say Goodbye while he was on tour in Detroit, Michigan — he initially didn’t want to share the track, wanting only Mandy to hear it.

In 2018, he told the Blue Grass Situation: “That is the most sacred, private world that I would never dream of wanting any access to.

“So for me, I was like, ‘Man, this is a very vulnerable moment for me, to say ‘I love you and I miss you’.

“It was just a quick thing and I didn’t really want everyone to be eavesdropping, you know?”

Marriage

Taylor and Mandy got married in 2018 after meeting on Instagram.

Mandy was an avid fan of Dawes and posted a picture of one of the band’s albums to her Instagram page, writing: “Real excited about this one.

“Have a feeling it’s going to be the soundtrack of my summer.”

Taylor messaged Mandy after seeing the picture, and the latter told People in 2017: “I took a picture of their album and posted it on Instagram. Somehow, Taylor saw it and sent a note to me.

“We started emailing back and forth, then we went on a date and the rest is history. Thanks Instagram, for helping me meet my fiancé!”

The couple got engaged in September 2017 and were married a year later in an intimate backyard wedding at Mandy’s home with about 50 friends and family in attendance.

Mandy and Taylor have three children together — two boys and a girl.

They welcomed their first son August “Gus” Harrison on February 20, 2021.

Mandy revealed the news on social media, posting: “Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith.

“He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents.

“We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”

The couple announced they were expecting their second child in an Instagram post on June 3, 2022.

“One incredibly seminal chapter of my life just ended and the next one, as a mother of two, is about to start… and are we ever so deeply grateful and excited,” Moore wrote.

“Baby Boy Goldsmith #2 coming this fall! Tour is gonna be slightly different than I expected but I can’t wait and Gus is gonna be the BEST big brother!! Xo.”

While the exact date of birth for son number two — Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett Goldsmith — hasn’t been reported, on October 21, 2022, Mandy posted a sweet snap of herself with her newborn on Instagram.

She captioned it: “Ozzie is here! Oscar Bennett Goldsmith arrived a little late but with much aplomb (and an easier/speedier delivery than his big brother, much to the delight of his parents).

“Every adage is true: our hearts have doubled in size and the immediacy of the love is astounding.

“He is beyond words and we are so grateful for our family of four!”

The couple’s third child and first daughter — Louise “Lou” Everett Goldsmith — followed on September 25, 2025.

What is Taylor Goldsmith’s band?

Taylor is the lead vocalist and guitarist in Dawes alongside his younger brother, Griffin, who plays the drums, Wylie Gelber on bass, and Lee Pardini playing keyboards.

In 2013, the band went on tour with Bob Dylan, one of Taylor’s biggest inspirations.

LA wildfires

A number of Mandy’s family members were caught up the 2025 LA wildfires — with her own home escaping the flames by mere metres.

In January 2025, Mandy Moore told trolls to “F*** off” after setting up a GoFundMe page to help her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who lost their home in the LA wildfires.

Despite losing part of her own home, she faced criticism online, with some accusing her of not doing enough to help her own family financially.

Mandy posted on Instagram: “People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic.

“Of course we are. Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe, and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them.

“We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”

Then the following month, after the devastating Eaton fire in Altadena that destroyed her in-laws’ home, Mandy criticised Amazon for delivering a package to the levelled residence.

Show wrote on Instagram stories along with a picture of the package amid the debris: “Do better, Amazon.

“Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists?

“This is my mother and father in law’s home. Smh.”

Amazon has since apologised, stating that the company was investigating the incident.
