The two-night documentary event will air this Saturday and Sunday on the network.

The new doc will include many emotional moments from recent years, showing the host struggling with both mental and physical illness.

GETTING REAL

One preview, obtained by People, showed Wendy talking to Angela “Blac Chyna” White, 35, as the two sat together for a heartfelt chat.

Wendy took off her wig to expose her real hair for the raw moment.

She also appeared to have minimal makeup on, completely stripped down as Chyna checked up on her.

The daytime TV host wore a blue fur Gucci coat and chunky Chanel necklaces as the pair sat in her New York City apartment.

The two had developed a close friendship ever since Chyna appeared on her show back in 2020, where she addressed the “controversial” drama involving the Kardashians.

In the new clip, Chyna thanked Wendy for always being there for her over the past few years.

“That’s why I love you so much, because even when I was going through my darkest times you never used that against me,” she told the host.

“That’s how you know that the love is genuine and it’s always going to be there. And I’m going to always be here for you, straight up.”

Chyna has been open about her substance abuse struggles in the past, recently celebrating major sobriety milestones.

Wendy then responded a bit off-topic, telling Chyna, “My real name is Wendy Hunter. Yup. And I’m divorced. He’s got no money.”

A concerned and emotional Chyna told Wendy that she loved her, to which Wendy responded, “So do I.”

On the verge of tears, Chyna then fell into the host’s lap as the two shared a sweet embrace.

TRAILER RELEASE

The trailer for the new Lifetime documentary dropped earlier this month, which garnered mixed reactions from concerned fans.

Wendy was hospitalized in May 2023 after a series of disturbing appearances and outings after her show’s cancellation the prior year.

Wendy’s long-running TV show, The Wendy Williams Show, aired its final episode on June 17, 2022.

The TV star was ushered to a rehab and details of her life since have been sparse until now.

In the since-deleted trailer, the star was filmed as her health steadily declined in recent years.

The New York native was first seen smiling and laughing as she greeted hundreds of fans, looking healthy and happy.

The documentary included shots of the broadcaster on stage of her show with an adoring audience, as well as a clip of her receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The video then took a turn, showing Wendy in her current state for the first time in over a year.

Wendy sat in front of cameras to discuss where she’s been and the drama she has encountered in her personal life.

Various clips showed the ex-radio host struggling while on set, needing assistance to even stand on her own.

WENDY’S CURRENT STATE

Ahead of the doc’s premiere, The U.S. Sun spoke with several insiders close to Wendy about the once vibrant TV star’s fall from the spotlight.

The star suffers from brain damage and has nearly died several times, multiple sources have claimed.

She was first presented with the devastating alcohol-related brain damage diagnosis in 2019 while she was in a rehab in Delray Beach, Florida.

One insider explained that there was a brain scan done as part of Wendy’s rehab stay.

The source also expanded that the impacts of her alcohol abuse were heightened due to her thyroid condition.

Wendy has publicly said she suffers from Graves diseaseLymphodema, and alcoholism.

On Thursday, her team revealed that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

“Wendy would not have received confirmation of these diagnoses were it not for the diligence of her current care team, who she chose, and the extraordinary work of the specialists at Weill Cornell Medicine,” her team stated in a news release.

“Receiving a diagnosis has enabled Wendy to receive the medical care she requires.”
