TODAY’s Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie have gone missing from the show for a second day in a row.
On Tuesday, neither host was at their regular position at the Today desk
Instead, Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander stood in for the hosts on Tuesday.
Both Hoda, 59, and Savannah, 52, were still out for “personal reasons,” but it the hosts aren’t sick – they’re just taking some time away.
On Monday evening, Hoda shared a photo to her personal Instagram account of her scenic stay in Hawaii.
She captioned the photo with a simple red heart.
Meanwhile, Savannah shared a post to her Instagram Stories from Carson Daly’s wife Siri Daly.
Siri, 43, had shared a meme of a man holding up a cardboard sign that said “Normalize Irish Exits” on St. Patrick’s Day.
An Irish exit, or an Irish goodbye, is when you leave a party without letting the host know.
Savannah wrote over the image “Can I get an amen” and added a four-leaf clover emoji. It appeared both the hosts were doing just fine, though there was no indication of when they might be returning to their desks.
ROTATING CHAIRS
Hoda and Savannah were nowhere to be found on Monday’s edition of Today, either.
Instead, anchor Laura had stepped in for her missing co-hosts on that day as well.
On Monday, Craig had explained why the pair were missing for the day.
“Thanks for starting off the week with us!” the anchor said as he welcomed viewers to the show.
“We’ve got Laura Jarrett with us while Savannah and Hoda are taking time off with their families!” he added.
Craig is the usual preferred stand-in for both Hoda and Savannah.
Monday found both Craig and Laura filling in for the missing anchors and chatting about a variety of topics.
HODA-ING THE FORT
Earlier in March, Savannah went missing on her own from the Today show.
She had promised viewers that Hoda could hold things down while she was away.
The anchor had headed off to Washington, DC for an assignment.
She checked in later during the week to talk to Hoda while in the area.
Savannah was reporting live from Washington DC while Hoda was in the New York City studio.
“Hoda, you are there in the studio holding it down,” Savannah said.
“I’m here in Washington. We had the State of the Union last night.”
“Yeah. We had a late night, SG,” Hoda said.
