TODAY has undergone a major change to its hosting lineup.
Due to the federal holiday, none of the main hosts were in on Monday and were replaced by familiar faces.
Typically, Today starts off with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb at the desk reporting on the news of the morning.
Then about 30 minutes into the program, Craig Melvin joins them for even more news.
However, on Monday, the three main anchors were absent.
They were replaced by Saturday Today anchors Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander.
Al Roker was also absent, so Dylan Dreyer filled in for him to report the weather.
She later joined Laura, 40, and Peter, 47, at the desk.
“Both Savannah and Hoda have this President’s Day off,” Peter explained at the beginning of the program.
The main hosts are expected to return this week.
SAVANNAH’S CAREER MOVE
Savannah, 52, was also absent from Today on Friday.
She is currently in the middle of a book tour to promote her new work.
Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere is set to be released on February 20.
However, some fans have gotten to read it ahead of time as they attended Savannah’s tour, which started on February 15.
She visited Charleston, South Carolina, on February 18 and will be promoting the book in New York on February 22.
Her tour ends February 28, so her scheduled on the morning show should go back to normal after that.
HODA’S FAMILY TIME
Hoda, 59, spent the long holiday weekend with her family.
“Happy birthday sweet @hannah.kotb ! I loved spending your 17th with you— watching you play your favorite sport! #volleyballtime,” she captioned her Instagram post.
Hoda, who wore jeans and a gray turtleneck sweater, posed with her niece, Hannah, and her two daughters, Hope and Haley, on Sunday.
She had a big smile on her face as they huddled together for a picture.
Then, a few hours later, The Today host shared another family photo.
This time Hoda wasn’t in it, but her nieces were.
“Bday girl and her sis! Kotb girls! @ella.kotb @hannah.kotb. Oh and Hopey’s hand,” the post was captioned.
Ella hugged her sister, Hannah, as they stood in a kitchen smiling.
