JOE Fryer has suddenly gone missing from Saturday Today.

He was replaced by a beloved female correspondent.Joe Fryer was missing from Saturday Today this week without an explanation

Typically, Laura JarrettPeter Alexander, and Joe, 46, lead the Saturday edition of the morning show.

Joe is the features host and usually joins Laura, 40, and Peter, 47, at the desk about 20 to 30 minutes into the program.

He typically leads the POPStart segment on Saturday Today.

Joe was on the show last Saturday.

When Today came back from commercial this Saturday, Laura introduced the Weekly Download segment, which Joe usually leads.

However, Vicky Nguyen was sitting next to her instead.

“Our friend, Joe Fryer, is off this morning,” Peter said.

“Another friend of ours, Vicky Nguyen is stepping in for him this morning.”

“Nice to see you Vicky. Good to be with you bright and early,” he said.

Vicky, 45, greeted the hosts and then got right into the news of the day.

A reason for Joe’s absence was not given.

MEET VICKY

Vicky joined NBC News in 2019 as the Investigative and Consumer correspondent.

She typically reports for Nightly News with Lester Holt, NBC News Now and MSNBC, as well as Today and Today 3rd Hour.

Before moving to New York City, Vicky worked for KNTV in the San Francisco Bay Area.

JOE’S NEW POSITION

Last August, Joe was announced as the new permanent weekend anchor.

“Joe, we’ve got to say congratulations to you,” Savannah Guthrie said to him on air.

“You were just named Saturday Today Feature anchor. We’re so delighted for you.”

“We are moving the Saturday show back to studio 1A. Laura Jarrett is joining us. We’re gonna have a good time,” Joe said.

“More Peter and Joe. That is how you want to wake up on Saturday. I love it,” Savannah said.

“A news buffet,” Al Roker said, which caused Joe to laugh.

The big change up came after Kristen Welker left the program.

Laura took over for Kristen Welker, who left last year for another program
