The reigning Super Bowl MVP has been speaking ahead of Kansas City’s Monday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

During an interview, Mahomes was asked if the current media storm around the A-list lovebirds has been a distraction inside the Chiefs’ locker room.

“I don’t think it feels any different,” he replied.

“People see the whole Taylor Swift and Travis and they make it a huge deal because it is a huge deal, think it becomes a bigger deal to the fan bases than it does to the guys that are actually in the building.

“I’ve been lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is, I think you understand why it’s not become a distraction or anything like that because everybody cares about being the best they can be every day.”

The two-time Super Bowl-winning star also seemed to imply he’s a fan of Swift’s music, suggesting he might try and get to one of her show’s in the near future.

“We’ll see when we get to the offseason, maybe I’m travelling to Europe to go to a concert or something,” Mahomes joked.

Mahomes first met Swift at a Chiefs after-party after she attended a game against the Chicago Bears in a suite with Travis Kelce’s mum on September 24th.

“Yeah, I met her,” Mahomes told reporters during a press conference afterwards. “She’s really cool, good people.

“But like Trav said, man, I’m going to let them have their privacy and just keep it moving.”

Swift has attended four Chiefs games this season, sparking a media frenzy every time. She was in Mahomes suite at Arrowhead stadium with his wife Brittany during a win against the Los Angeles Chargers in October.

During the second quarter of the game, Swift and Brittany Mahomes even showed off their very own secret handshake which went viral on social media.

The Kansas City Chiefs WAGs were also spotted leaving Swift’s New York apartment the same day the Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins.

Ahead of the Eagles game, the Chiefs QB spoke about his close relationship with Kelce.

The pair’s connection started in 2018 when Mahomes became a starter and has blossomed into one of the most devastating quarterback-tight end connections in NFL history.

The offensive duo have won two Super Bowls together and recently became the fourth QB-TE duo to connect for 50 touchdown catches.

Speaking about his ‘brotherhood’ with Kelce, Mahome said: “I mean, I talk about his family and my family have almost become one family because of the relationship that we have and how we’ve kind of (become these) brothers on the football field but off the football field, as well.

“He doesn’t try to be this Travis Kelce ‘Saturday Night Live,’ guy…He just wants to be the guy who comes to play football every single day.”

“We both love winning, and we love competing, and I think that’s what makes us have that same wavelength on the football field — is we’re going to compete until the very end.”
