It comes after fans couldn’t pick out the star from his police mugshot

A NOUGHTIES TV star looked completely unrecognisable from his superhero small-screen role as he headed to an event in Orlando.

The 47-year-old stepped out at the MegaCon showcase in a black top, matching jeans and baseball cap, adding a pop of color with striped laces on his Nike sneakers.

It came just weeks after Smallville star Tom Welling was arrested in northern California last month in connection with driving under the influence.

At the time, TMZ reported the actor was taken into custody in the parking lot of an Arby’s restaurant shortly after midnight.

The outlet cited police records which stated his blood alcohol level read at, or above 0.08 per cent.

With his grey short hair and goatee beard, Tom looked worlds away from the height of his fame in the 00s in his police mugshot.

Tom was then from custody after he was cited for the violation, but is yet to comment publicly.

At the Megacon Orlando event, which sees lovers of comics, anime, horror, gaming and cosplay gather to share their passions, he took to the stage for a Superman panel.

He appeared to brush his recent legal woes aside as he flashed a smile for the Man Of Steel chat, alongside George Newbern, Tyler Hoechlin, Tim Daly, Bradon Routh and Dean Cain.

He is also set to reunite with his Smallville co-stars for another panel event.

Tom played the lead role in superhero series Smallville, which followed the coming-of-age adventures of a teenage Superman/Clark Kent.

The series ran from 2001 for 10 seasons until it ended in May 2011.

Since then, Tom has starred in Lucifer and Professionals, as well as a film released last year called Mafia Wars.

But Smallville is definitely what the actor is best known for, and fans of the show couldn’t help but comment on how different Tom looks in his mug shot after it was released by authorities.

The actor is married to Jessica Rose Lee – an equestrian – and the couple have two sons together.

They married in November 2019 in San Ynez, California.

Jessica believes her family is now living the life they were “destined” to, as she revealed in a December 2023 post on Instagram: “Somewhere in the high country, a timeline unfolds.

“In the midst of raising young boys, young horses, young dogs, and young cats, alongside each other — we’ve found ourselves living a version of life that was destined all along.

“I can’t help but smile at the synchronicity of it all.”
