No one has embraced change lately quite like Hoda Kotb, and now, the former TODAY co-anchor wants to impart her wisdom about personal and professional shifts in a new book.

The book, titled “Jump and Find Joy: Embracing Change in Every Season of Life,” will be released Sept. 23, 2025, and is currently available for preorder.

Hoda shared the news Monday, March 10, in a video message on TODAY.

“Everybody in their life, at one point, stands on the edge of something and says, ‘Should I jump?’” she said.

Some of those jumps in the last year for Hoda included moving to a new home in the suburbs and leaving her longtime job at TODAY, which she said she felt “terrified” to do.

She credits her friend Maria Shriver for opening her eyes to how many times she has “jumped” already in her life, including in her career, relationships and motherhood.

Penguin Random House classifies the book as both biography/memoir and self-improvement/inspiration.

The title of the book features two of Hoda’s favorite words at the moment, “jump” and “joy,” though she clarifies she doesn’t mean “jump for joy.”

“Jump and find joy. That’s what it’s about. Jump and find joy. Let’s go,” she said.

Hoda worked for NBC News for 26 years before her last day with TODAY Jan. 10, and the show spent her final week sending her off in style with surprises and heartfelt tributes. She will continue to remain a part of the NBC family.

“It feels like a warm hug to me, this new adventure,” Hoda said about being on the other side of her job after making the big jump to leave.

“Change doesn’t always arrive when we expect it, and its effects are anything but predictable. But Hoda believes that the benefits of change can be extraordinary…if we’re willing to listen to and learn from it,” reads a description of the book from Penguin Random House.

“Jump and Find Joy” features advice from change experts and “deeply personal stories” from both celebrities and “inspirational people in our own communities,” the description continues.

Hoda said on TODAY some of those names include actor Viola Davis and pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts.

“I started thinking about different people who I’ve loved and respected and admired who’d been afraid to do something and have done it,” she said.

The book will also get into why change should be celebrated and not feared.

“You get one life, that’s all,” Hoda explained. “That’s it. It’s ready for the taking, but it takes a jump.”

Change for Hoda included wanting to get into the wellness space as part of her post-TODAY life and spending more time with her daughters, Haley, 8, and Hope, 5.

“I get to watch my kids grow up in front of me. Like, I get to bear witness,” she added, saying she learned Haley likes her eggs in the morning “over hard, really hard” and no longer scrambled.

“It’s the smallest things and the biggest things, but you’re witnessing them in all parts of their day, and I’m treasuring that,” she explained.

She opened up in an interview with TODAY.com during her last week at the show about what her new routine would look like and said she was “working on a whole bunch of different things.”

But one of the things she was most looking forward to was simple.

“I’m just going to let us be a family with a normal rhythm of life,” she said about her and her girls.

Hoda has previously authored multiple books, including “I Really Needed This Today,” “This Just Speaks to Me” and “Hope Is a Rainbow.”
