Hoda Kotb has been reminiscing about some of her ‘greatest’ moments on the Today show as her final day of hosting fast approaches.

The 60-year-old star will be bidding farewell to her long-term role at the NBC morning show on Friday, January 10.

The official Instagram account for Today with Hoda and Jenna shared a throwback clip from January 2022 on Monday, which showed Hoda and Jenna Bush Hager watching back footage of the time they decided to partake in a cold water plunge.

Three years ago, the two women donned black swimsuits and took on the polar bear plunge, which sees people swim in near-freezing water to mark the beginning of a new year.

In the clip, Hoda and Jenna were seen stripping off on the beach before holding hands and running into the water with other members of the public.

However, as the water reached their knees, mother-of-three Jenna decided to go all in and dived into the ocean headfirst.

But it seemed Hoda wasn’t as brave, as she bent over and dunked her head in, before she quickly turned around and headed back to the shore.

As the two ladies watched the footage back in the Today studio, Jenna was stunned when she realized what Hoda had done.

‘Wait, what? You didn’t dive? You just put your head,’ she shouted as Hoda burst out laughing.

‘No wonder you were out so far… you didn’t dive? I thought you said we were gonna dive together,’ Jenna continued, before adding: ‘All you did was just put your head gently…’

But Hoda quickly interrupted her and said: ‘No, don’t say “all you did,” I was all the way soaking wet, it just wasn’t as dramatic,’ as Jenna reiterated: ‘I dove under!’

Fans were quick to comment on the post, and many sided with Hoda.

One person wrote: ‘This was funny. But I would have done the same thing Hoda did. I still don’t know how anyone does this in freezing cold water.’

Another person admitted: ‘I would have pulled a Hoda,’ and a third said: ‘I would have done the same.’

Someone else argued: ‘Hoda def cheated,’ and another person wrote: ‘This is HILARIOUS. And I love how Hoda prances back to shore like she CRUSHED IT.’

Others were quick to let mother-of-two Hoda know just how much she will be missed.

‘Wishing you all the best Hoda. I’m really going to miss you in the mornings they won’t be the same,’ one said.

Another wrote: ‘I am going to miss this so stinking much!!!!!’ and a third said: ‘I’m gonna miss this duo so much.’

Hoda announced in September 2024 that she had made the decision to step away from her role at Today in order to spend more time with her daughters, Haley, seven, and Hope, four.

She revealed how marking her 60th birthday had sparked a seismic ‘shift’ in her life, and paid tribute to her ‘ride-or-die’ Jenna with a tearful statement at the time.
