SAM Champion has debuted a new look – to mixed reviews.

The Good Morning America weatherman changed up his hair, but many shocked fans are hoping he cuts it out.

Sam shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the taping of a special segment for the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony.

The bit looked to be a spoof of best picture nominee Barbie, with Sam donning a rainbow colored striped shirt and a stiff, orange plastic wig, to resemble the Allan doll.

Allan, according to Barbie lore, was Ken’s best friend. The figure was played by Michael Cera in the blockbuster movie.

Sam shared a close-up of the outfit on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, smirking as he waved to the camera.

The 62-year-old joked in the caption, “Uh. Uhmmmmmm … Hi Barbie?” adding the hashtags #AllanDoll and #Oscars.

SAM I AM NOT

Online, however, many fans mistook his look for another famous red-head.

“You remind me of Archie Andrews as played by KJ Apa on Riverdale,” one person tweeted. Others echoed, saying, “You look like Archie from the comics.”

But while Sam may have looked like Archie to some, to others, the overly fake hair made him come off like a real jughead

“Definitely NOT a red head!!” one person exclaimed. “You are our Sexy Sam in Blonde – Platinum Blonde- Silver – Gray but NOT red!”

“This look is not working for you, Sam!” another added.

A third agreed, “Sorry Sam…it’s a big no…your handsome self is all we need.”

As a fourth slammed: “What the heck is that? Take it off! Your head make sure you look like am Oompa Loompa.”

WAKE UP CALL

Sam may have been channeling Allan, but he had clearly had Kenough last week, when he was forced to wake up early to fill in for Ginger Zee, who had been battling a major health issue.

In an early morning Instagram video, he made a few remarks that sounded a bit like complaints to his viewers.

“Good morning, you guys,” Sam greeted those who tuned in, then cleared his throat.

“Wow, that was froggy, those were literally my first words of the morning,” the 62-year-old added.

“There’s Lincoln Center, so early they only have the step lights on,” he joked, since it was still dark out in the morning for him on his way to work.

“I’m in the car on the way to GMA today. Ginger is out today, so I believe I’m doing weather,” he added.

Sam then greeted a few more viewers in his Live video, and laughed.

“I only had two cups of coffee,” he told everyone.
