GOOD Morning America host George Stephanopoulos has had an explosive night.
He revealed that the family group chat was blowing up while watching the Grammy Awards.
During GMA on Monday, Lara Spencer led a segment on the 66th Grammy Awards, which aired Sunday night on CBS.
At the end of the segment, she asked her fellow hosts what their favorite moment was.
“Anyone have a favorite moment or too many to choose from?” Lara, 54, asked.
George, 62, was the first to answer.
“Our family group chat was exploding all night between Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and our friend, Gracie Abrams, was nominated for Best New Artist,” he said.
“I saw that. I thought of you,” Lara said.
“It was a big night for our family,” George ended.
Gracie, 24, was up for Best New Artist, but lost out to Victoria Monet.
COZY SUNDAY NIGHT
George’s wife, Ali Wentworth, snapped a photo of the journalist and posted it to her Instagram Stories.
Ali, 59, shared a picture of George sitting in a chair, looking down at his phone.
Their dog sat on the ottoman by his feet.
George had on a hoodie, sweatpants, and his signature glasses.
“Sunday night,” Ali captioned the photo.
George and Ali’s daughters – Elliott and Harper – are currently in college, so they were most likely texting their parents while watching the awards from their dorms.
THE GRACIE CONNECTION
The Stephanopoulos’ were rooting for their friend, Gracie.
Ali is good friend with the singer’s mom, Katie McGrath.
Katie just so happens to be married to one of Hollywood’s biggest directors, JJ Abrams.
And aside from Gracie, JJ and Katie share two sons: Henry and August
Ali and Katie have known each other for decades, and they are so close that Ali even shared a photo of Katie and Gracie to her Stories.
Katie even posted a few photos to her Instagram of them at Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour in May, which Gracie was an opener for.
