GENERAL Hospital is coming in hot this season as it teased fans with a shock arrest.

The “explosive” week is also set to see the return of fan-favorite Rick Hearst after a three-year hiatus.

General Hospital fans were hit with a shock after Kristina Davis, played by Kate Mansi, on Friday’s episode.

Last week, fans saw John “Jagger” Cates, played by Adam Harrington, arrest Kristina.

Kristina was having a conversation with her father Sonny Corinthos, played by Maurice Benard, where he said he wouldn’t kill Ava yet, though Kristina had previously requested so.

As they were talking in the hospital, Jagger walked up to Kristina, who was preparing for her hospital after falling out of a window and losing the baby she was carrying, and told her, “Kristina Corinthos-Davis, You are under arrest.”

Kristina and Sonny were both seen in disbelief at the arrest.

During this week, details of Kristina’s arrest will unfold before viewers’ eyes, as per this week’s preview.

Some fans believe it has to do with Ava; however, others believe it has to deal with a federal RICO investigation.

Since the arrest, fans believe Kristina’s case will eventually be dismissed.

“The case will probably be dismissed for lack of evidence,” said one fan.

“Jagger does not have an official investigation into RICO charges against Sonny, so how will that even hold up in court?” questioned another.

Additionally, the preview also showed Kristina and Molly, played by Kristen Vaganos, having a heated conversation about naming the baby without her.

However, the baby was not Kristina’s child to begin with.

Fans shared their thoughts on the events that continue to develop on social media.

“Is Kristina having a mental breakdown or something? My baby this, my baby that. This was never her baby. Who’s going to tell her??? Enough already,” wrote one fan.

“She wasn’t yours to name ,Not YOUR baby Kristina,” wrote another.

“What is Kristina’s problem? It’s not her baby she agreed to be a surrogate. TJ warned Molly about this and she was too naive,” said another passionate viewer.

HEARST IS BACK

In addition to the drama at General Hospital, Rick Hearst, who played Ric Lansing, is scheduled to return on August 19 to the beloved soap.

Rick originally made his debut on the show in 2002 until 2009.

He reprised his role in 2014, however, the last time fans saw his character grace the General Hospital screens was in 2016.

After nearly a decade away from the soap, on July 25, 2024, General Hospital revealed Rick would be coming back to the show.

“Very excited to announce my return to GH in the role of Ric Lansing,” wrote Rick on Instagram.

“Stay tuned. You never know what you’re gonna get with this guy.”

Fans were excited to hear of Rick’s return with one fan writing on social media, “Welcome back to Ric Langsing! Been waiting for this.”

Haven’t seen GH in many years but will now start with your return! Glad to have you back as Ric!!”

Alongside Rick, General Hospital stars Emma Samms and Jonathan Jackson are among many alums who are reprising their roles this season.
