GENERAL Hospital has lost three cast members, and viewers are not happy.

Fans have called the cast shakeup a “huge mistake,” but two of the departing soap opera actors may not be gone for good.

On Monday, the latest soap opera cast “comings and goings” were reported by Soap Opera Digest.

The outlet revealed that General Hospital actress Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Charlotte Cassadine, has departed the series – for the time being.

Charlotte returned to town last week but left just as quickly alongside her father, Valentin, played by James Patrick Stuart.

With Valentin Cassadine fleeing Port Charles with Charlotte, the character’s actor, James Patrick Stuart, will be absent from the General Hospital for the foreseeable future.

Well-versed in the character’s history, Soap Opear Digest teased that fans shouldn’t expect Valentin to stay away for good.

Last week, Hudson West’s Jake Webber accepted his dad, Jason’s, offer to pay his tuition to attend art school in Spain.

While the character may be off canvas for a bit, sources at General Hospital assured the outlet that Jake’s absence is not permanent and that the long-running series has no plans to recast the character.

In response to the casting news, one fan wrote, “On General Hospital they are making a huge mistake with the actors that are leaving.

“We would love to see Nina, Ava, Natalia, Blaze, Kistina & Anna to leave permanently. Just to name a few.”

“I’m fine with everyone on the show. If they’re not needed for a while or have in their contracts they can do other shows or a movie and be off canvas for a bit, who are any of us to complain,” replied another.

A third person commented, “I can understand if the actors have other projects to work on. I just hope Hudson West returns.

“We’ve lost Cameron and Spencer, at least for now, I’d hate to lose Jake too.”

“I certainly hope that Hudson West returns as was stated,” agreed a fourth.

They continued, “I seem to remember GH stating that William Lipton (Cameron) was only leaving temporarily and would return, yet he never did. He did appear for Spencer’s funeral but left immediately after.”

INCOMING CASTMATES

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) son, Danny Morgan, played by Asher Antonyzyn, appeared in this week’s promo – and did not appear happy.

Carolyn Hennesy as Diane Miller is back on the Port Charles scene, appearing in several episodes this week to field various legal matters.

Barre Johnson will play the new character Pentonville Warden, sharing scenes with Anna in his debut.

FAN PREDICTION

Last week, General Hospital fans gave their thoughts on which fan-favorite character could be returning after seeing Friday’s teaser clip.

The ABC soap shared a trailer for its newest episode, and viewers pined for LuLu Spencer to return after her 2020 departure.

With Lucky Spencer’s return to General Hospital this summer after leaving in 2015, some hope his sister will appear on their TV screens again.

The trailer showed Dante Falconeri, LuLu’s ex, telling his former mother-in-law, “By coming to see her, I’m doing more harm than good.”

Some viewers have wondered if the two potentially paid a visit to LuLu.

“Sonny and Jason come together. A great bond between them! Lulu come back, Ava needs to go down,” one person commented on the teaser clip.

“Bring Lulu back!!” a second penned.

“Bring Lulu back and let Dante go back to her,” a third begged, while a fourth similarly wrote, “Bring back Lulu !!!”

“I hope Lulu comes back!!” a fifth wrote.

“My guess is Lulu coming back,” said another.

Someone else replied back, “Lucky is definitely coming back hopefully they bring Lulu back as well.”

LUCKY’S RETURN

It was revealed in late June that Lucky Spencer, played by actor Jonathan Jackson, would return to General Hospital after an almost decade-long hiatus.

“I’m super excited and can’t wait to dig in and see what’s going on in Port Charles,” he said in an Instagram video.

“Just wanted to say thank you to all of the fans over the years. Your persistence and love has certainly played a part in all this. Just wanted to say thank you,” he added.

The actor has portrayed Lucky, the son of Luke and Laura Spencer, since 1993 — winning five Daytime Emmy Awards along the way.

END OF AN ERA

Lucky returns after General Hospital actor Michael Easton revealed he was leaving the series last month.

“I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone,” Michael said in an Instagram video.

“But I thought you all deserved better. So I just want to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital,” he continued.

Michael thanked the cast and crew of the daytime soap, also giving an ode to the fans created over the years.

“And as I walk out of here for the last time, and with apologies to Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth,” he finished.

Michael has played Dr. Hamilton Finn in General Hospital since 2016.
