EVA Longoria has revealed she has a very famous and surprising A-list cousin.

The actress, 50, told Jimmy Fallon that she was stunned to find out who she is related to after appearing on the television show Finding Your Roots.

Eva revealed to Jimmy that Hollywood legend Meryl Streep is in fact her cousin which, in her eyes, also makes 75-year-old Meryl “Latina”.

The Desperate Housewives star even told him that Meryl was equally excited to find out the news and shouted “cousin” at her while backstage at the Golden Globes.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Eva spoke about her time on Finding Your Roots, which is hosted by Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Eva told Jimmy: “Usually he has five or six people on at the same time and he cross references everyone’s DNA to see if we share a relative in the last 100 years.

“And he’s like, ‘Wanna know who you’re related to? Meryl Streep!’ I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I was so excited.”

Eva, who looked stunning in a monochrome strapless dress, went on: “I was at the Golden Globes backstage in the Green Room and my friend was like, ‘There’s Meryl. Go and say you’re her cousin!’

“I was like, ‘I’m not going to go up to Meryl Streep and say we’re cousins! It’s not going to make any sense. I’m not sure she saw that part of the show!’

“But as I’m like, ‘No I’m not going to do it’ I hear, ‘Cousin! Cousin!’”

Amazed, Jimmy told her: “That’s how cool Meryl Streep is!”

Eva then revealed the conversation she had with her newfound relative.

“I was like, ‘Clearly you got the talent in the family‘ and she was like, ‘Clearly you got the beauty’. How sweet is that?” she said.

Eva added: “So Meryl is Latina!”

A clip of Eva announcing her family connection to Jimmy has now been shared on his show’s official Instagram account.

One fan replied: “They are both stunning and talented!”

Another added: “Meryl is latina, that’s just great 😂😂😂I love it!”

And a third gushed: “What a beautiful thing to know that you are related to someone of such stellar talent.Both are classy ladies.”

It is currently a busy time for Eva.

The actress has just celebrated her 50th birthday and marked the occasion with a whole weekend of partying.

Eva admitted she hit the shots with family and friends over two days in Miami.

But she also told Good Morning America her birthday weekend away was just the start.

Eva reckoned: “It’s going to be about a year-long celebration — not a month-long.

“We started in Miami and I think I’m still a little tequila-influenced. It was fun.”
