The Kansas City Chiefs are in an interesting spot right now.

Kansas City just lost the Super Bowl and now it is up in the air if the team will have superstar tight end Travis Kelce back for the 2025 National Football League season. Kelce is a beloved figure in Kansas City and across the NFL as a whole. The 10-time Pro Bowler has spent his entire career with the Chiefs but he has said he’s going to take some time to decide if he’s going to return for a 13th season.

He’s 35 years old now. One thing that at least is a positive for him is that whether or not he plays in 2025, he’s going to certainly cash in. Kelce and his brother Jason have been an extremely popular podcast in “New Heights.” Also, like Jason, when he ultimately retires he certainly can cash in with media deals.

Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina shared that Kelce’s eventual media payday will be “significant” and could even reach $10 million per year.

“Kelce isn’t going to come away with $375 million like Tom Brady, but his payday will be large and significant,” Traina said. “And the fight for his services will be intense. It’s a no-brainer to say that CBS, Fox, Amazon, ESPN, NBC and NFL Network would love to get in the Travis Kelce business. You just know that people at those networks are already coming up with some lame segment titled, ‘Travis Kelce’s ‘All Right, All Right Nows’ of the Week.’”

“The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand recently reported that ESPN is somehow paying Jason Kelce $6 million per season to appear on its Monday Night Football pregame show. Given Travis’s popularity and girlfriend, it wouldn’t be hard to see him get close to $10 million per year for his services.”

No matter what, Kelce is going to be set but hopefully he has one more year in him first.
