THERE has been speculation that the daytime show, The Talk, will be canceled.

And among the clues that fans think foretell a fall for The Talk is CBS’s recent greenlighting of a brand new soap opera, a move one fan has called a karmic comeuppance for the daytime talk show that replaced a beloved soap itself.Fans of The Talk believe that the daytime show could end after it has not been announced for a Season 15 renewal

CBS revealed their plans to add an all-Black soap opera called The Gates to their daytime TV lineup, per Deadline.

The network didn’t say when or where the new soap will go on the schedule.

The Young and the Restless is number one in daytime and was just renewed for another four seasons, so taking that off the roster is out of the question.

The Bold and the Beautiful is number two and was also renewed through 2025.

Let’s Make A Deal and The Price is Right both have solid ratings and budgets.

That leaves The Talk, which is the lowest-rated show on CBS daytime.

The Talk, now in its 14th season, replaced the soap opera As The World Turns when it was canceled in 2010 after 54 seasons.

And now, The Talk is the sole daytime TV show on CBS that has not yet been renewed for a new season.

FANS SPECULATE

Because of The Talk’s low ratings and no news of renewal, fans think that the long-running talk show might be coming to an end.

On X, formerly Twitter, fans speculated about what the spate of renewals that leaves out The Talk could mean for the show.

“Sorry for those who work on it but I feel like if The Gates gets picked up to series and The Talk gets canceled, I feel like it would be karma because soaps shouldn’t have been canceled for talk shows,” one fan wrote.

“A soap getting The Talk canceled would be poetic justice,” another tweeted.

“Sure does. How fitting for a show that killed As the World Turns to be done in by a new soap opera, and a black one at that,” added a third.

“You might’ve won the battle, but you haven’t won the war Justice For ATWT! Cause that’s a soap time-slot! So here’s to a new era,” a soap opera fan posted.

“I just assumed this new show was gonna land on an app, if I’m being honest. But if we can roundhouse kick that dumb a** Talk show off air, I will become the captain of The Gates fan club lol,” said another fan.

“I never thought it would be possible that a soap could replace a talk show in this TV landscape, but I want this to happen so badly,” one last fan added.

THE TALK SNUBBED

Another clue that The Talk could be ending was that it was snubbed from the People’s Choice Awards.

The Tamron Hall Show was also the only other talk show that was left out.

Morning shows like Good Morning AmericaLive with Kelly and MarkToday, and The View were included on the list.
