CARSON Daly has admitted to being anxious on the Sunday ahead of his return to work at the Today studio.
The Today host shared a cryptic quote to his Instagram Stories on Sunday that indicated he had been dealing with some anxiety.
On a plain white background with stark black text, the 50-year-old shared a quote about the weekend.
“Weekends are a scam, you spend one day exhausted & the other day anxious…like what was that??” it read.
He did not elaborate further via his Instagram Stories on what he had been anxious about.
It could just be that Carson identified with the quote from another time in his life.
He also followed up with a quote on Monday in the same format.
“I overthink, overlove, overstress and overfeel,” that image read.
Carson has been missing from Today several times over the past few months.
He was not missing on Monday from his post, however.
‘WALKING THROUGH HELL’
In early February, Carson posted a few similarly concerning quotes.
He had left a cryptic quote on his Instagram Stories with a meaning that wasn’t immediately clear to fans.
“If your path demands you to walk through hell, walk as if you own the place,” the 50-year-old’s post read.
It was a quote written in white text on a simple black background, tagging the Instagram account @1.spiritual.
The message seemed to indicate Carson could be going through his own “hell” but he didn’t elaborate further.
It also insinuated that those going through hell should take a degree of pride in what they were dealing with.
Carson had seemingly been dealing with things on his own after being absent multiple times over the past few months.
While he had back at his post here and there, some of Carson’s experiences had been all over the place in terms of tone.
Recently, he shared some regrets about his mother’s death in an emotional new post.
Another time, he shared some then-and-now photos as he reunited with his old coworkers.
CARSON’S MESSAGE
These messages are just some of several cryptic admissions that Carson has shared with his followers.
The Today show host previously subtly hinted about some unspoken unhappiness amid his many recent absences.
Carson, who had been missing an increasing amount of screen time from the show, shared some quotes to his Instagram Stories.
And while he doesn’t provide much context for them, they all seem to be about making a big change in your life.
Carson’s first slide was perhaps his most revealing – directly talking about making a move.
“The move you’re scared to make, just might be the one,” he shared.
Next came a prayer to the lord, asking, “Please give me strength and wisdom to deal with whatever happens today. Help me do things that make you happy. Please be with me, keep me safe, and give me peace. Amen.”
