- Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes’ Home Burglary Cases Get Important Update
Federal officials have charged seven men in connection with a series of high-profile burglaries targeting professional athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced the charges on Tuesday, detailing the group’s involvement in a multi-state burglary ring.
The suspects, all from Chile face charges of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, according to NBC News.
Authorities linked the suspects to a string of burglaries, including those at the homes of Kelce and Mahomes in early October 2024. The US Attorney’s Office reported that over $2 million in valuables were stolen in total.

Following the burglary at his $6 million mansion, Kelce reportedly spent $40,000Â upgrading his home security. His new system includes 10 security cameras, motion detectors, improved lighting and an advanced alarm system. Additionally, he purchased two guard dogs for $9,000 to enhance protection.
The break-ins occurred around the time of the Chiefs’ 26-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints in October 2024.
The suspects are believed to be part of a South American burglary ring that has targeted wealthy individuals across the United States.
Federal agencies, along with the NFL and NBA, have issued warnings to high-profile athletes about the growing trend of such crimes.
