• Chiefs Teammate Sends Strong Warning on Patrick Mahomes

In the regular season, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put forth the best year of his career–in the win-loss column, at least. On the stat sheet, things were much different.

Mahomes had the worst year of his career in terms of yardage, throwing for just 3,928. For a guy who has passed for 5,000 yards twice in his career, 2024 marked the first time he’d never hit the 4,000-yard mark. He also threw 26 touchdowns, which tied a career low, and gained an average of 6.8 yards per attempt, another career low.

There was a career high on the books for Mahomes in 2024, though: He was sacked 36 times, beating his previous high of 28 times sacked handily.

Of course, we know, too, how the season ended for Mahomes, as he dropped to 3-2 in career Super Bowls and saw his playoff winning streak end at nine with a blowout loss to the Eagles.

Mahomes is still just 30 years old, though, and there is a strong chance he will rebound. And teammate Charles Omenihu says he expects it to be a particularly strong rebound. Asked by host Kay Adams of the “Up & Adams” show, Omenihu warned of how Mahomes will look in 2025: “On a revenge tour.”

Asked to elaborate, Omenihu added: “Extreme focus. Taking even more control of the organization. We’re gonna get my boy Rashee (Rice) back, so that’s gonna be great with how X (Xavier Worthy) has been playing. Hopefully, being able to figure out the rest of the pieces but I think it is gonna be big-time on, like, he probably feels like he didn’t have his best performances, and him being who he is, being the best quarterback in the league, he wants to come back and have one of those big seasons.

“I think he will be on a mission, for sure.”

It’s still to be determined whether Omenihu is in Kansas City for the Mahomes revenge tour. He will be a free agent this offseason.
