The Kansas City Chiefs enter the NFL offseason looking to bounce back from a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Kansas City finished the season with a 17-3 record, defeating the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans in the playoffs. They were then dominated in Super Bowl LIX, losing 40-22 to the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Kansas City has won the AFC Championship Game in five of the last six seasons and the Super Bowl title in two of the last three years.
They’ll look to keep their championship roster intact when the free agency period begins on March 12.
According to a recent free agency prediction list from USA Today’s Jacob Camenker, the Chiefs are linked to signing Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley.
Stanley, 30, has been with the Ravens since 2016. During his nine-year NFL career, Stanley has been named an All-Pro as well as a two-time Pro Bowler. He’s helped Lamar Jackson and the Ravens stand atop the AFC standings for much of the past decade, but Baltimore hasn’t been able to reach the mountaintop.
A move to Kansas City would give Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense much-needed protection. Mahomes was sacked six times in the Super Bowl, so the addition of an experienced offensive tackle would be a major move for Kansas City.
