AMERICAN Pickers star Mike Wolfe’s Iowa antique store has been slammed for its high prices as customers are accusing the owner of charging three times the normal cost.
Mike, 60, owns Antique Archaeology in Le Claire, Iowa and Nashville, Tennessee
Customers have slammed the store for their expensive prices and large selection of merchandise.
One customer wrote, “Place is way overrated and overpriced… Highly recommended to stay away from this place.
A second complained, “Overpriced items they found at estate sales that they dust off and then charge 3x the price. And that’s most stores…”
A third said, “I’ve always been a huge fan of the show… Iowa is a pretty small place. The second outside building was a nice addition.
“I felt there was so much Merch (show t-shirts, hats, glasses, etc) displayed everywhere, that it took away from the displaying of the actual antiques.
“Maybe have just two places for show merchandise and let the treasures shine more? It is decorated so cute inside and outside, let it shine more.”
Another wrote, “Super fun place!!! We arrived six minutes before close and the two ladies were in no hurry to move us along. If you are a fan of the show you will see many items that have been on the show.
“It is interesting the price picked is way different than their sale price. Of course they need to make a profit but jeepers. Ended up buying some stuff but wished I could have bought more. Great place to shop and some unique items. Go!”
INSIDE ANTIQUE ARCHAEOLOGY
Exclusive photos obtained by The U.S. Sun show the store stocked with merchandise.
Antique Archaeology swag includes mugs, beer glasses, shot glasses hats, shirts, flags and more.
Photos show multiple stands of merchandise over antiques.
As for overpriced items, a Royal Crown Scale costs a whopping $4,500 after Mike bought the antique for $3,200.
A Drink Uptown sign hung on the wall of the store is $1,800.
A dog statue could run a customer $900.
A Whippet Motor Oil Can is $595.
Similar cans being sold online go for just $175.

NASHVILLE STORE
Mike has faced similar criticism with his Nashville, Tennessee store.
One fan bashed over Google reviews earlier this month, “Huge disappointment. Made a special trip to go there. Total waste of time.
“Very few items for sale and what were there was overpriced. Don’t waste your time…”
A second customer ripped, “Waste of time, we love the show and were excited to get to go but it was a total waste of time!
“They have shot glasses, t-shirts, and can coozies and shop towels with their name on it but not much else. Very few antiques and the ones they have are super expensive! $1,500 for a small quaker sign.”
A third commented, “The Antique Archaeology store left me unimpressed. A lot of mass-produced souvenir items for sale with a few antiques on display.”
“Would have been very disappointed if I came up just for this,” a fourth customer complained. “Was expecting an antique store, not an American Pickers gift shop.”
Photos obtained by The U.S. Sun show the expensive items and merchandise-heavy store.
Merchandise ranges from Antique Archaeology T-shirts for $25 to $37 to magnets.
As for actual antiques, the items in the store are expensive.
Examples include $3,500 for an antique coin horse ride and $3,000 for a stock market machine cabinet.
SHOW STRUGGLE
Mike’s high prices come as American Pickers struggled with low ratings for Season 26.
The October 9 premiere episode had 565,000 viewers watch Mike pick through Evel Knievel memorabilia.
The January 15 finale was the second highest-rated episode of the season, as 708,000 viewers watched.
The highest-rated episode reached 760,000 viewers on December 18.
October 30’s DIY Delorean had the lowest ratings of the season with just 442,000 viewers.
When fan-favorite co-star Frank Fritz was on the series, numbers soared over a million.
Frank passed away on September 30, 2024, two years after he suffered a debilitating stroke.
Frank’s last appearance on American Pickers was in March 2020.
The U.S. Sun reported in May 2024 that the series has three more seasons left in its contract.
The show resumed filming in February 2025.
OTHER BUSINESSES
The Iowa antique store is just across the street from his new vacation rental Two Lanes Guesthouse.
After a months-long delay, Mike revealed the home will be available for rent in April.
He also has a rental in Columbia, Tennessee near his bike shop Columbia Motor Alley.
