Prue Leith showed age really is just a number as she wowed in a black swimsuit on Tuesday.

The Great British Bake Off star beamed from ear to ear while posing in the water as she celebrated her 85th birthday, completing the look with a pair of her signature quirky earrings.

The TV star revealed she was enjoying her day at the Royal Perth Yacht Club before her return flight to the UK on Wednesday.

She penned: ‘Royal Perth Yacht Club, warm, light breeze & sunny! Back to the Cotswolds tomorrow’.

It comes after Prue gave an emotional health update last month as she admitted she is ‘conscious this is nearly the end’ of her life.

Joining the Loose Women panel for a special edition of the show named 70 plus, Prue candidly said there were ‘all sorts of things wrong’ with ageing.

Opening the show, host Janet Street-Porter said: ‘Old age isn’t something to fear it is something to celebrate!’ as they celebrated 70 years of ITV.

However, Prue disagreed and exclaimed: ‘Well, I think old age stinks.

‘It takes me 10 minutes to get myself out of bed in the morning. If I don’t do the exercises I can’t move. There’s all sorts of things that are wrong with old age.

‘You know, you are very conscious that this is nearly the end, though I agree that you then decide that you’re going to make the most of it and have fun.’

She added: ‘I think what we’re all saying is that we don’t care what people think as much as we did and to be honest I don’t even really care if I’m cancelled.’

‘So what?’ Prue shrugged while Janet agreed with her.

Recently Prue said she is taking life in her stride as she revealed that she has become ‘more reckless’ as she ages. 

The Bake Off star joked she is ‘so near the end’ that if something ‘sounds like fun’ she is happy to give it ago.

Speaking about ditching the kitchen and trying something new, she told Heat magazine: ‘Because I’m so near the end, I’m a bit more reckless now. What’s the worst that can happen?

‘If I was about to get a job on Bake Off I probably wouldn’t walk down a catwalk in Latex with goth makeup on, but now it’s too late. If I want to do it and it sounds like good fun I just think, why not?’

Prue looked incredible in black raunchy red lace up dress which she teamed with black leather trainers and matching leather gloves.

The star rocked an intense smoky eye makeup and a bold red lip as she strutted her stuff down the runway.

Prue also revealed that she can no longer do gardening in her free time as she is getting ‘old’ and finds it ‘too tiring’.

She said: ‘I used to do a lot of gardening but I don’t do as much now, I’m more likely to fall over because I’m old and get too tired.’
